[ Because he recognizes that younger voice and dead people can't have conversations. ]

Stephanie wants to talk to you, so if you could stop being dead for about thirty minutes...
( there's this part of komaeda that wants to throw stephanie in the pool sooooo bad, but he's trying to be normal. )
She even brought a peace offering... ( pats her shoulder, go young one, komaeda will watch and not get in the way of a nice, genuine conversation between two friends. )
no subject
But he won't deny the mention of a peace offering gets his attention. ]
Is that why you're here, Nagito?
[ To be the peace offering. ]
no subject
It's candy, actually. [don't] Actual candy.
["NOT BOYCANDY," screams the tiny trixie in her mind.]
no subject
( you know the dvd tape where dvd floats on the tv and never hits the corner, pray that it doesn't hit the corner with this conversation because it's going over his head. )
I've came to watch over the peace, as you know... hope means a lot to me, and I hear both you and Stephanie are at the oddest of ends.
( soft sigh, inhale. ) You should thank her for bringing this to you, because... as you know, I'm not one for sweets.
no subject
[ just talking like Stephanie isn't there
But really, they have no reason to talk, they've gone all this time not crossing paths until he'd sought her out for recruitment, and they can so easily go back to never crossing paths again, no hard feelings. ]

Komaeda is my reason. You're important to him, and he's important to me. He even knew you'd like these [glances down] hot toe-males. He also committed maybe a slight crime to get them! That's the most considerate thing I've ever seen him do for a human! Ever!
no subject
...
( he huffs slightly, looking off to the side, because this isn't about him — it's about hope, and maybe he should be more firm about that. )
Tamales... ( ... ) Now, now... if hope here is bothered in any way, that gives room to despair, and since you're both hopeful individuals... I'd rather not have it brew between the group...
no subject
Hot tamales.
[ You eat something one time and everybody assumes it's your favorite. But he's not wrong and Rokkun holds his hands in front of him, as if to catch a ball, or a box of candy. ]
Alright, toss it here. I'll forgive you.
no subject
when she tosses the candy, it's a gentle underhand.]

I figured that since both of you are... interested in running around like dogs on a field that you'd be able to give her tips on her newfound club.
( he can't join it, but he can give some insight. )
Like turning off the electric fence, or anything that could help her prosper... I want you to help her hope, Rokkun, I know you're the only one capable in that department.
( and komaeda's going to walk like eight steps away! don't look at him, don't talk to him, but he'll watch from where he is... look at his finger nails... make sure they're clean, etc. )
no subject
It's not like I founded my [ ... not his, though ] club, you know? I was [ was... ] captain because of seniority and because of my position. You learn to work with what you have. Play without touching the fence. You don't typically have to, anyways.
no subject
... It's electric, right? That means it's connected to something. If you break that, it stops, and it's not like they're really great about fixing things. [pause] It's kinda vandalism, but that's okay if you're doing it for good reasons.
[we can't even blame komaeda for that this is one of the other bad influences in her life.]
no subject
no subject
So you came to recruit me into a life of crime?
[ This has nothing to do with him, who would play without touching the fence just as he used to willingly step onto the field to play """soccer""" ]
You don't need to break it; I know how to turn it off. But I don't see a good reason to.
no subject
[it's actually slightly hard to understand a person with a clenched jaw so maybe they don't even catch this.]
no subject
( if he's willing to give something helpful, they should take it, and despite rokkun's methods are questionable... )
There could be a reason, Stephanie, Rokkun isn't a horrible person all the time. Perhaps there's something beyond it that we're keeping out, or we're being kept in from tarnishing what's out there.
( imaginative mind. )
Either way, your hope will pave a way towards your success.
no subject
If you don't touch the fence, you won't get burned or die. It's part of the sport, like the ice in ice hockey and metal cleats in soccer.
no subject
If people die, it's not a sport. Sports aren't supposed to kill people. If they die, something went horribly wrong. It's not part of it at all.
no subject
You both abide by different sports, but in the end it's about...
( ... what's sports about, he doesn't do sports. )
Anyway, this is her sport she wants to utilize with people that she can share it with, just like you did... so won't you see what comes from her method? Perhaps she can make you proud, and show us different opportunities with her hope.
no subject
[ Don't blame the sport? Blame you being a bad athlete. ]
This has nothing to do with me, so even if she did manage to create a team to play a non-lethal game, it doesn't matter to me. Why are you two here?
no subject
But, wow, what a shock! He was completely wrong! You're the worst!
no subject
( he sighs, but he'll get up from where he stands as he walks over. )
I came here because I believed in the strength of both participant's hope. What's the point of arguing when together, a type of happiness could be made...
( don't get depressed komaeda, don't get depressed — yeah, fake it until you make it. )
...Now I feel like an idiot for trying, I should just kill myself... that was the agreement, wasn't it Stephanie?
no subject
You agreed to that?
[ Hello? he sure is addressing Stephanie now. ]
