Reporting for 6 AM Screwup at the Faculty Office

As soon as Ritsuka is done with the entrance ceremony, she rushes to the faculty office for her assigned scolding. She does not want to piss off any teachers m ore than she has to, thankyouverymuch!

Ritsuka arrives at the faculty office and the strict woman beckons her to her desk and gets right to business: she wants to know the names of everybody who stayed inside the school during spring break. She says she does not care who's idea it was initially, or what they were doing inside, or who's to blame or any of that; she just wants names.

Does Ritsuka provide?

Meeting with the Class 2-A Homeroom Teacher

After spending a long time over break trying and failing to replicate the magic circle that Ritsuka thinks she summoned "Saber" with, she knows where a lot of the school's chalk is. The class 2-A teacher gets many sticks of it from Ritsuka, always accompanied by a genuinely curious look, but she won't ask about what she's using them for unless the teacher breaks first.

The teacher isn't telling, just accepts the chalk and stows them away in a little box for safekeeping. Ritsuka gets +2 merit points for each full stick of chalk, thank you for your contribution.

04/05 Meeting with the Vice Principal (i'm okay with cutting it short but i want to be a good egg)

Nene doesn't want to be in trouble even more, but she also wants to make it very clear: she tried to leave.

While the stricter woman takes Ritsuka aside, the assistant principal asks Nene to come to her desk. She looks immediately concerned when Nene insists she tried to leave, and asks if Nene is being bullied? who was forcing her to stay?? she won't get in trouble if she names names, but the faculty can't do anything about bullying if they aren't told.

White's mostly just. Coming around to give her a gift, actually. Within a cleaned glass bottle he most certainly did not have some poor NPC fish out of a trash can is going to be a number of stars, along with a note inside that says: "Each time you feel alone, hopeless, or stuck, unfold a star. They shall lift your spirits."

He just thinks she works too hard and she's got it kind of bad job wise. The stars have small cute messages ranging from compliments to comments that might make people smile, like a note on something one of the cats or a student did that was particularly nice. Maybe if he visits and sees she's running low, he'll make some more, but for now there's about 50 total.

She's going to keep the jar of stars on her desk and admire them for a day or two but once she realizes what's inside they're all going to be gone by the end of the week lmao. Each time she unfolds one, she'll tape the paper to the cover of one of her notebooks she carries around so she can continue to be uplifted by the messages and also to waterproof them from her tears. When she sees White in the hallways or if he ever visits the faculty office she'll hold up her notebook and go (:!!! at him

2-A's Homeroom Teacher, i'm finding something or getting shuichi killed (or both)

At some point towards the end of the first week it becomes common knowledge she's looking for chalk, Shuichi brings her two sticks that seem to be leftovers from his own homeroom because they're still in the original box (just, the only two left inside).

The box must have been sitting open in the classroom for quite a bit, because it's a little frayed around the corners and so are the two chalk sticks themselves. It's not that uncommon for chalk to chip, so I'm sure she won't pay any mind to the X-shaped marks just very very faintly scratched into the sides with a really thin object... If she uses them, on the other hand, she might find that they're just a little bit difficult to write with compared to other chalk (maybe they're just cheap??) and a bit more chalk dust falls down than she's used to.

(It's salt from the home ec room, that was stuck down the middle after a very narrow hole was carved partway through the top of the sticks. It kind of causes any chalk lines they trace to have just the narrowest, barely noticeable gap down the middle.)

all she wants to do is provide you guys a good education and what does she get in return? BETRAYAL.

She never calls on Shuichi in her class ever again ///: Furthermore, she leaves it behind at another class's homeroom when she rotates to it, that teacher uses it for all of one stroke before pocketing it and taking it to another homeroom to abandon, and the two sticks of chalk travel all around the school for the next two weeks like a prolong game of hot potato with nobody seemingly wanting to throw them away.

Eventually they get donated to the charity auction as a pair, with a placard reading "CURSED CHALK. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK."

With people coming in injured more and more, Nene is really worried about her friends, but adults aren't always around to help, and... well, it's good stuff to know. Could she teach Nene some things to help her friends if they get hurt...? Of course she will always come to the nurse herself first, she promises!

She thinks it's a good idea, though, and says she'll speak with the other faculty to work in a day or two of health lessons for each class sometime during the month so everybody can learn the bare basics too, things like when and where to apply pressure to stop bleeding, situations where you want to use a cold pack versus a hot pack, how to wrap a hand so the bandages don't get loose and a mess in two seconds, etc. If Nene wants to learn anything more in depth or wants to practice, she's always free to stop by the nurse's office.

Librarian!

After she gets some help finding books on historical blacksmithing, Ritsuka will slide the librarian a note thanking her and asking her where to send gifts, since Ritsuka wants to make a treat for her for all of her hard work but food obviously isn't allowed in the library.

The librarian gives her a look like ??? and pulls a pen out of her breast pocket to write below Ritsuka's note: "The best way to give somebody a gift is in person. If that isn't possible, and if it will fit and not be too messy upon being dropped a short distance, insert it into their locker."

Who needs instructions on how to send gifts to your friends????? weird girl.

Komaeda and Naegi approach the black cat with lasers!! And shine it around to get the kitty's attention. Naegi will even go pspspspsps so there's even more of a reason for his eye to be clawed out :')

Yes! Komaeda has one and also his cat treats in his pocket just in case he needs Lily May to purrtect them!! But he's going to stand behind Naegi because... he's hope.. you can't just STAND beside or infront of hope so he's watching with a warm smile!! :) You know the smile, the freak one where he just :). Izumi and Natsume are going after the black cat first :') They have brought offerings of... some homemade cat food they made after school in the HomeEc Room. Pspspsps. They'll probably put it down on the floor on a plate once they spot little kuroneko-san and wait to see if it'll come closer...

...Izumi has his little horse toy on him though. Food vs horse who will win.

They find the black cat in the locker area walking down one of the rows of lockers before it spots the two of them and freezes in place. As long as they don't make any sudden movements or reaches for it, it doesn't run— but the way it's tensed suggests that it will at any given moment. Rather than peering down at the food on the floor, the cat stares at Izumi. Horse hate is winning out... Compared to the white cat, this one doesn't seem as motivated by food.

Because they're classmates and speaking to a classmate seems to be a good, easy way to gather information especially from a third year, she's going to attempt and ask if he knows anyone by the last name of 'Arisu' in the school - either from this year or the previous years!

He looks slightly confused, only because shouldn't she know too? But he says that it's understandable since they don't really stand out that much, and they're in the grade below them: twins, Maya and Hiro Arisu.

For three days, Ritsuka will be making the rounds after school across the clubs, offering free samples of her frankly godlike chocolate treats (learning how to satisfy the tastes of a cast of hundreds—and growing—figures from history through both Valentine's and White Day gifts every year on the dot tends to make you an expert chocolatier) to the various clubs around school, as sort of a collective gift from the transfer students.

Then, on the eleventh, just when people are really hankering for more of those chocolates, Ritsuka will put up four different items at the auction: three different boxes of chocolates, all made by her, and the promise of commissioning a custom chocolate large chocolate and box of chocolates of any shape, size, flavor, or composition for the fourth slot.

She'll also bring a box to the vice principal, purely out of the goodness of her heart. Seriously.

That ought to get her the merit points she needs to survive through the next break, at least.

Ritsuka will definitely survive through the next... next... break, since she won't see any of the merit points until the auction next month. The assistant principal is presently surprised to get chocolates too, thanks Ritsuka for being sweet, and says she hopes the superintendent wasn't too hard on her the other day.

[ Like most all other npcs who seem to know everybody's names, as if they've all grown up together from preschool onwards. Her voice is soft but not unkind, and she doesn't meet his smile, stopping on her way out the door just before they're face to face (face to chin? she's short) as if she would phase through him if only she could, so she didn't have to have this conversation. ]

4/14, early morning

[completely innocently, as if she hadn't just blown up a bathroom hours earlier, Stephanie brings the lemon cake she'd made yesterday to the vice principal's desk in the faculty office. since she likely has much more important things to deal with, she leaves her a note.]

I noticed you've been sad recently, so I baked you this cake to cheer you up. No matter how tough things get sometimes, there's always a way to make them better! Please keep working hard!

sad, recently,,,

She is so sad and stressed and after having to deal with a flooded school, she doesn't find the cake until lunchtime in the afternoon and she just sits down and eats the whole thing in one sitting, it is that sort of day. The next time she sees Stephanie in the halls or if she visits the faculty office, the assistant principal will thank her and say that it did cheer her up, especially since lemon cake is her favorite.

4/19 we interrogatin Maya Arisu

Noah is pretty direct and to the point about wanting to ask Maya about suspicious activity relating to the body of the student council president that was discovered this morning. He's being reasonably polite and not trying to make her miserable if she's in mourning. In specific, he asks her if she can give him information pertaining to suspicious figures/activities leading up to the murder.

Strangely enough, she doesn't seem to be in mourning, although she has a pretty expressionless face by default, and if he looks suspicious about that fact she tells him that while death is a terrible thing, she was not personally close to the student council president, being in different years and only really speaking to her during meetings. She tells him that, even as the school year has just started, the most suspicious thing would be the rumor that there were people who'd broken into the school over spring break, and she suspects one of them may have taken that time to set up a murder while nobody is around to disturb them. The pipes bursting and the library being evacuated are also suspicious events and seem to her to be deliberate, but she cannot pin any of these on a specific person or suspect.

She then turns the question on him: Does he have any information for her about suspicious figures or activities that might connect to the murder?

Maya Arisu, 4/16, during lunch

Ritsuka, looking very concerned, is going to bluntly ask Maya if she remembers whether the president was with them or not while they were directing the evacuation from the library.

Maya looks put off being approached like this, but she sets her lunch aside and answers Ritsuka properly: the president was there, and was one of the ones helping students out of the library, while Maya herself was stationed outside of the library to prevent nosy students from going inside.

Class 2-E Homeroom Teacher, lunch

Something about Maya's reaction is a departure from her usual stoic self, and having dealt with a convoluted pseudo-twin murder case at the Kogetsukan before, Ritsuka decides to follow her hunch and ask the 2-E homeroom teacher whether Maya was behaving oddly during and after the day of the fire.

The teacher denies Maya behaving oddly, but says that if Ritsuka noticed her being off, isn't that because of the fire? Anybody would be shaken, even if they're used to hiding their emotions like Maya is.

trying to meet kouji on 4/17

He sure can! Despite being a third year, Kouji seems to hang out on the second year's floor during lunch, and can be seen chatting with some of the second years or otherwise walking on his own.

[ He says it like its not awkward to say that. ]

[ So basically Hiro's gained a stalker and he doesn't really know what to do with that fact. He keeps his head down during class and spends his lunches in his sister's homeroom where he sort of sits in a corner desk and sips on a juice box and listens to conversations going around him and after class, despite being a member of the science club, does not go to science club and instead goes to the library to sleep.

More recently, aka the past two and a half days that he's noticed he's being followed, stays in the library as much as possible during lunch and after class, situating himself in a table in the very back where he can keep an eye on the door and the entire room around him. ]

There are no books on numerology, but if Nene asks some of the students, she might run into some who are interested in that sort of thing and can explain things to her! If she appears very interested, they may or may not try to get her to join their cult I mean club

Ritsuka bumps into Hiro in the hall after classes end, and, completely guilelessly, says, "Oh! You're Hiro, right? Stephanie told me about you. My usual assistants are occupied with some stuff with the other transfer students and from what she said you were pretty handy while she was baking her cake for Nene and the assistant principal. I need some help making chocolates for my donations to the auction, do you think you could lend me a hand?"

[ Uwah... He takes a step back from all of this, giving his surroundings a quick look as if hoping there'd be somebody to save him, but the other students just give him a sympathetic look and keep moving instead of getting involved.

Mm... hmm...

He shakes his head. And mimes cracking eggs, because that's all he did to help Stephanie and he doesn't think chocolates use eggs. ]

4/25, like an hr or two into the meeting bc he walks out to see his dotter

( no need to thread so this can be handwaved, i just wanted to write here that komaeda is shaking his treat bag because he wants to cuddle lily may. you know when the entire ROOM hates you and while that's lovely, lily may has never done him wrong so give him at least five minutes of holding. he's going to settle his back against the wall, sliding down to the floor with his arms open so she can come into his embrace because he wants to pick her up and scratch behind the ears. after two or three scritches, he's now curling his index finger under her chin to scratch there too. as for komaeda, he's staring at the wall slightly spaced out.

oh nooooooo oh no please she'll let him cuddle her for five minutes until she realizes he's not actually going to give her a treat and then she'll walk over to Natsume and scratch at his pants because he actually fed her once upon a time

also her favorite thing is if you slowly stroke her forehead from in between the eyes and back over the top of her head, her eyes squeeze shut and she starts purring immediately and it's very cute

( this isn't an actual thread either, but norton pours out some cat food the next time he sees the little white one and tries to call it over with "lily may" like he was told. he kind of stares at it like a weirdo for a little bit if it eats, but if he's allowed to pet it, he's like... keep taking care of komaeda. he feels Extremely fucking stupid after doing this, so he huffs and leaves. )

She doesn't come when he calls her Lily May but maybe he can think it does if he pours the cat food at the same time he's saying her name. She gobbles everything down rather quickly except for the last two bites that she leaves for later, but she's purring all the while and arches her back against Norton's hand when he pets her.
