[ The voice comes from a distance away, like a certain counselor is snacking at his desk and can't be bothered to walk to the door to let Stephanie in. But it is open, the handle slightly cold to the touch when she tries it, but it'll swing in easily. ]
no subject
so it takes her a whole minute to actually grab the handle and turn it, with one final warning to ghost!Hyde:]
If you ditch me in here, I'm gonna use one of the commands to turn you into a hamster. [OKAY NOW WE'RE OPENING THE DOOR AND GOING IN.]
no subject
The counselor at least doesn't look surprised to see Stephanie here in Hyde's stead. He's sitting on top of his desk as per usual, a bowl of pistachios to his left, and a bowl of pistachio shells to his right. Next to the bowl on the right is a little stack of pistachios that he couldn't manage to get open, which he will revisit later as a last resort.
There are several chairs in front of the desk: a plastic folding chair, an office chair with arms, an office chair without arms, a recliner, a rocking chair, and a beanbag. There is also the ground if she'd rather sit on the ground, or the desk if she wants to sit with him. She can stank awkwardly anywhere in the room? It's her choice, this session is for her. ]
Pistachio?
no subject
she picks the beanbag chair, sitting on it primly at first, her hands folded in her lap. the "at first" is because she's slowly slouching, because it's very tiring to be powering some jerk's ghost magic.]
-- Do you do group therapy in here or something? [god she had wanted to be cool and say something cool as an opening remark but instead she is just weirded out by the amount of chairs. this is too many chairs.]
no subject
Sure do. We're having one right now.
no subject
He won't need a chair, though. He's just gonna hang out over there and protect his master. [with a slight emphasis on the words. like she's still convincing herself of that.]
no subject
We all start somewhere. How does it make you feel? Has it been fun?
no subject
[rubs at her eye] S'fine. I just need to sleep more. Maybe when I don't have to sleep on the floor anymore, I'll do better.
no subject
[ Look at him. He gets to lounge around and snack and chat all day, watch some kids cry, it's a great job. ]
Would you like to take that beanbag with you in the meantime? It'll be a lot more comfortable than the floor, and a good, restful night's sleep helps revitalize all parts of a person— physically, mentally, and spiritually.
no subject
No, thank you. [...] I don't wanna owe you anything.
no subject
[ This way, she could choose what to give, instead of him asking something of her, and they'll be even stevens. ]

[ He's not even going to pretend to think about it. This isn't a charity. ]
Nor any possessions that you can't spare— I won't need them. Payment can come in the form of other, less tangible things. You're a bright girl, you'll think of something. And it's an open offer, as long as you need it.
THANKS FOR NOT SENDING ME THIS DW YOU DEMON
Is that what you give people for their memories? Stuff?
dw like fuck this thread in particular
cracks open another pistachio ]
Strangely, not many people take me up on that offer. Memories are typically such coveted things... though there are of course memories a person would rather forget. You have them too, don't you?

[ She has those too. Memories of her life here- ones she considers fake, not hers, the self in them not her. Would she give those up? The familiarity she might feel with other people that extends long past the 4-ish months she's been aware of being here, the overlapping and contradicting memories. She has no need for those, does she? Give them to him. ]
no subject
[leans back] Besides, fake memories nobody cares about probably aren't as tasty as real memories people love. I wouldn't get anything good for them. Those aren't the ones you want.
no subject
[ Nobody wanting to give up tasty memories means he's got to subside off pretzels and nuts... ]
But I do care. They continue to affect you, after all, even if they aren't real. It doesn't matter if they're good memories or bad, important or unimportant. They're still there, they still shape you, and so I care.
no subject
What's your offer, then. For one.
no subject
[ He doesn't even own the furniture in the room, technically. But, hmm. He carefully scoops up his pile of hard to open pistachios and holds them out to her.
?? ]
no subject
Guess you go hungry today. [pause] Unless Hyde's interested. I don't wanna speak for him. You'd love his, though.
no subject
What am i doing? IM not paying attention.
no subject
[ yesssssssss the counselor seems happy to see him, even if Hyde is like... popping the entire pistachios into his mouth, shell and all ]
Do you have any tasty memories you don't mind relinquishing?
