[ Do they really need to talk? The look on her face suggests she'd rather not, but there is nowhere else to go after clubs are over and she leans against the wall by the counselor's office waiting for Hiro to be let free, camped out there so she can death glare anybody who even dares glance her way or think thoughts about her brother in that room. ]
If you're going to insist we talk on the stairs again, I'm going to have to insist we stay on the first floor.
[ Fuck stairs, thank god we're getting an elevator ]
no subject
At least I'm not the one who made us talk on the third FLOOR. ( their almost-to-the-roof venture...... ) RegardLESS, we can stay HERE.
( He glances at the door, tilting his head slightly, but won't ask about it right off. )
I realized the last time we spoke I had promised you the identity of the person behind the... bathroom vandaLISM, let's call IT. ( the bomb. ) I just wanted to tell you who it WAS, should you and the student council still be interesTED.
( though his attempt at handing in a glitter bomb for a donation ... probably either gave them reason to suspect him at minimum. )
no subject
Also ugh is the face she makes when he brings up the bathroom vandalism. Half the school got flooded and smelled of sewage? UGH. ]
I'll have their head for that. Who was it?
no subject
natsume, then: little wolf isn't that bad, but i will.
natsume, now: )
You're looking at HIM. ( He should've made her work for it a little... but he already said he'd tell her so unfortunately here he is.
...His cohort didn't do anything outside of accompany him and set it up with him, so he'll keep her name out of this. ) It is thanks to that that we discovered someone's keeping somebody in the PIPES, so you should at least be a little grateFUL.
no subject
Before we unpack all of that... Did you have some purpose behind the property damage? "Discovery" implies that was not your original intent.
no subject
TruthfulLY, I had my suspiCIONS. As I mentioned in our talk priOR, I noticed the water was an unusual color - not unlike that of fairly diluted BLOOD... but the reason for the bomb was simply to clear a blockAGE. The water pressure had been lessening on the upper FLOORS, so I thought I'd simply drop a small bomb down the sink and solve one of our proBLEMS.
( ... )
This was my first time trying something like this specificalLY, so I may have made it a little too powerFUL.
( Just A Little Bit. )
no subject
So you dropped a bomb down the sink instead of going at the pipes with a wrench.
[ A homemade pipe. And the very first test that you did is on the school's pipelines. Can she murder him? She's well within her rights to murder him, right? ]
Are you literally insane?
no subject
I prefer the term mad scienTIST. ( ... ) SorRY. I hadn't meant to cause you so much trouble - I mean THAT.
( and that is — actually genuine. Natsume's lips curl up a little, and his gaze slides off of Maya as he continues. )
I'm skilled in chemical reacTIONS, not plumBING, and I had materials left over from some other endeavors of MINE... I hadn't taken into consideration how old this school WAS, or how it might impact people other than ME. ( Or rather, anyone but the transfer students living here - which are all middle-of-the-road for how much he cares about them anyway. ) If it's any consolaTION, you're not the only one who's gotten on my case about the BOMB, and I haven't made any since THEN.
no subject
It's hardly something you need to be scolded for in order to learn from... And the next time you want to thank me, give me a bomb instead of a pastry.
[ She would definitely find more use out of it than bread for her brother. ]
no subject
Not a fan of SWEETS? What a strange girl you are - White Day must be horrendous for YOU, though I suppose that would imply you give anyone but your brother chocolates on Valentine's DAY.
( Ordinarily this is where he'd teasingly ask her to give him some, but he also doesn't. like sweets. so he prefers no one give him any because then he Will be obliged to eat them. A gift is a gift, after all. )
Anyway — ( He tucks the longer part of his hair behind his ear, glancing at the door - she'd probably prefer to wait alone, like usual, especially if his company is the alternative, and it isn't as if he has anything else to mention to her.
Nothing that - they've talked about mentioning anyway, the others, but Maya doesn't come up in group conversations as often as they do his personal ones. That should be embarrassing, and maybe in retrospect it will be, but people seem to think he's on good enough terms with her to ask him about her here and there. (He is probably toeing a line, at this point, one way or another.) He's quiet for a moment more, then shakes his head and nods to the door. ) You're waiting on Hiro-kun, aren't YOU? I'll leave you to IT.
( ...it isn't as if he'd been completely insincere in his desire to have more open communication with her about the things they discover or come across, but if she'd been in Nao's class last year and would have preferred her dead - but she hadn't really seemed that way, caring about calling her a body rather than a doll - but that doesn't really mean anything either - )
The body Ouma-kun won from the auction survived her orDEAL, ( he says shortly, turning from her. ) I don't know if that matters to YOU, but considering you seem to care about the students as the council's presiDENT, I thought you'd like to be made aware of it if you weren't alreaDY.
( He doesn't know if Nao attends her classes or not, he's a second year, and he hasn't talked to her yet. )
no subject
Silence is something she's used to, but that doesn't mean she takes comfort in it, glancing over at Natsume every time he pipes up and then stops again, like he's trying to broach a topic when he knows she would much rather him just come out and say it. He isn't here to tease her about valentines, or to sympathize with her brother—-
and there's the heart of it.
Is this courtesy? Or is she to offer her opinion in exchange for that information; it seems fair, although she can't imagine it being an equal trade. ]
...I know. I haven't talked with her yet, though. I wouldn't know where to begin... The girl is avoiding us.
no subject
He looks over his shoulder, lips curving up. )
Would you like some tips on how to deal with avoidant stuDENTS, Little Wolf? You know I'm an exPERT. ♪ ( Not something he should take pride in, but he'll turn back halfway to her. Some genuine advice: ) For Sato-chan, I think what's best is to let her come around on her OWN. You were in her class last YEAR, weren't YOU.
( It's a question, but at the same time, it isn't. )
If you WERE, I'm not surprised she'd find interacting with you and Hiro-kun... diffiCULT, to put it lightLY. In the meanWHILE, I could always pass on a message for you TWO.
( Not that he's. expecting her to trust him with that, necessarily, but. )
no subject
Besides, I can't take your advice. You have your own brand of audacity that will only work for you.
no subject
I thought you might refuse ME. ( He's not hurt over it or anything though, giving her a small shrug. ) It was just an offer from one friend to anoTHER.
( And despite everything, he's still pressing that narrative. Humans eventually accept the labels given to them. )
I'll take it as a compliment THOUGH. ( Even if most of the audacious people are people he can't stand. ) My brand of audacity is what allows me to keep speaking with YOU, after ALL, and I don't think you dislike it as much as you try to pretend you DO.
no subject
Goodbye.
no subject
( but he doubts hiro will want to stick around school longer than he has to though... so.... he'll leave her be with a little wave. )
