that's how selective dementia works, or rather, he tries really hard to remember because he's going to forget. he can't even remember the first thing he did when he got in this school. once hiro's satisfied, he watches as he starts to cap his fingers with the chips one by one, and i respect what's fun to him along with the attention span. )
and you just woke up, good afternoon. did i get your order right?what?i must have, how lucky of me...now, i wanted to make a proposal.
no subject
Also, Maya's going to kill him for 1) accepting food from Komaeda, and 2) believing it a gift out of the goodness of his heart instead of a trade, of course it would be a trade, he'd eaten a chip and now he's not allowed to refuse Komaeda's proposal— or at least he can't refuse hearing it out.
There is no text reply; Hiro just turns slightly in his seat so he can give Komaeda fuller attention. Fuller not full, because he's going to recap his fingers for a second round of chips, since he'd already eaten some and there's no turning back now. ]
no subject
as hiro turns to him, komaeda can't recall in either of those two moments where it seemed like hiro was willing to give his attention — it always felt like he was trying to get away (which is valid). a natural response to anyone that comes into komaeda's vicinity, but he can't say that he's not a little excited for this.
he taps on the pda for a bit, thinking of how to phrase certain things considering he has maya's words to think about. )
we're going to have a fundraiser soon, and i wanted to know if you'd join them... your art skills would work wonders by drawing in the attention of others, it got mine considering the mark you left on my hand made me wonder for awhile... anyway, i believe people should see the sort of hope that you have.
( realized there was a pun in there. )
no subject
That was something else.
It doesn't even have anything to do with hope, and he doesn't think anything he does inspires it, let alone his art having that capability, so he ends up looking mildly uneasy as he pulls the pda towards him. ]
if its wonder, kudo's art would be better
no subject
i'm not asking about kudo-san, i'm interested in you, arisu-kun.
i want to view you
( turning the pda towards hiro once again, komaeda smiles... sheepishly, it's hard to tell whether he's genuine, but he's never been good at making conversation with others. he crosses his arms on the table, laying his head down against them as he attempts to be normal.
wait. he takes it back to finish. )
r art.
( sometimes dementia brain works slower than his fingers, but now it's fixed properly. )
no subject
Also I remembered the one time I made Hiro do a text thread and for consistency his abbreviations are even more so now, compared to his handwriting. ]
i can draw sthng 4u.but if publc, dont credt me
no subject
us, arisu-kun... everyone's going to have fun with this...
that's why i think you should join... i'll also buy these two snacks while you make your masterpiece.
( maybe a collage of lily may... or something, he doesn't know what the outside is interested in... )
no subject
what do i draw?
[ It's going to be a collage of Lily May at this rate, everybody's going to come for the cat and go ??? when it's just maids in cat ears. ]
no subject
like... wocket in my pocket, but lily may of the day.
what rhymes with bev?
( started crying because i wrote dr. suess and then remembered this. i felt like i'd be wrong if i didn't share it. alright, but lily may is going to join the fundraiser, they have to pay 400 bux to touch her, and that's how they speed run the money.
...komaeda didn't come here with a plan, but it fits the theme. )
no subject
idk any of them
[ Who's Lily May? Wocket?? Bev??? ]
no subject
the cats, we should do them because the fundraiser will be animal themed...
( thinking about how komaeda has to regain a dr. seuss book for hiro. )
no subject
ebalon draws cute cats
no subject
i saw a few from his stolen notebook.
if you wont draw cats because ebalon-kun... what do you want to draw for us to get people's attention...
what do they like outside?
( three cats... lily may, bev... and... slaps cat tail on hiro. )
no subject
??
but his finger shakes a little and sort of hovers between the two "ebalon-kuns" above and below too ]
no subject
( dementia. )
oh, do i need to find you a notebook so you can start drawing?
let me look...
( should he leave his pda with hiro so he can get a snack again? )
no subject
Hiro nods. Yes leave him with the unlocked pda ]
no subject
( he's going to leave it unlocked for hiro, and then slide it in his direction because he remembers how this went last time. he'll get up from where he's sitting, and make his way out the library so he can... make his way towards the art club room, because that seems like the best place to get one.
that gives hiro enough time to buy stuff with the pda. )
no subject
He gives Komaeda a moment, and then also collects himself and leaves the library, but not to go to the vending machines. He makes his way upstairs, turns the corner and walks down the hall, opens the door to—-
...?!
He stares at Komaeda from the door to the art room. ]
no subject
It's not what it looks like!
( he may be putting down a few paint brushes that he was moving out the way on a desk to see if he could find some notebooks, but his hands are messy to show he's been going through a lot since he got here. )
...Oh, Arisu-kun, it's you... why are you doing?
no subject
He shuffles his feet at the entrance, rubbing his thumb over the PDA's surface so it doesn't go blank. ]
no subject
( he's going to make his way over to hiro, grabbing his wrist to pull him inside of the art room, and he shuts the door behind him gently. clicking off the lights in the room with his prosthetic, now with his organic one that holds onto hiro, he's searching for the pda in the one hand that he believes is his? should be his, he left it with him, to keep it on so they can use that light to look around. )
I didn't know you missed me that much...
( he says this quietly with a joking tone, because they're probably not supposed to be in here... huh. oh well, who is going to stop them? )
no subject
Hiro is very easily pulled into the dark room, and the PDA is easily seen by the dim light from the screen. Maybe he's trying to say something, but it's impossible to read his lips with how dark it is inside (maybe the curtains are all closed today so the light doesn't bleach any paintings IDK whatever fits the narrative) but he does try to tug a little away from Komaeda and back out the door. Tugs a little harder, actually, his free hand coming up to Komaeda's wrist and try to get him to move his hand, somewhat frantic. ]
no subject
There... aren't we lucky!
( he says that happily, clapping his hands together as he sees where the light is pointing at. he walks forward, kneeling down towards the floor as he tries to check this little cabinet space that he thinks might have a few books. keep the light steady, or rather, hiro can turn on the big light because komaeda thinks he's found what he was looking for.
unless this is a notebook with chiaki's... artistic pieces, then they're back to the drawing board and have to start all over again. )
no subject
The PDA light shines down on the open notebook.
Hiro takes one look at it, lets go of Komaeda's arm, and blindly stumbles for the door himself GOODBYE HE'S OUTTIE. ]
no subject
( that's all he has to say about that open notebook, he doesn't want to deal with it, it's probably cursed. that said, he's going to follow hiro out of the art room as well. )
Where do they keep all the fresh notebooks, I'll never be able to see Arisu-kun's great artwork like this...
( manipulative sigh... ok where did he go, komaeda's not going back in there alone. )
