For Maya, though, this feels a lot like deja vu? Except she doesn't have an excuse of shooing unwanted guests away from the student council room when there is no meeting to interrupt, so while she ignores the first set of knocks, his persistence wins out and she eventually opens the door.

Lily May pitter patters straight out the door, tail aloft like one of those tourist flags so Komaeda can follow and not get lost down the short length of the hall they walk down before she is impeded by the stairs. Damn doors and walls, they should've let the school get water damaged so she can hulk smash her way through where she needs to go, but unfortunately she still needs Komaeda/somebody with opposable thumbs to open doors for her. ]

( he slowly gets to his feet, taking a step forward so that he's no longer dealing with the handle pressed into his back. reaching back, he rubs his fingers over the area as he looks down at chiaki, this is a poor attempt to soothe the pain actually. as much as he appreciates her enthusiasm, he shakes his head as if she's not understanding what he's trying to convey. )

If you want to help him, you should do it alone.

( the thing about komaeda is that he only helps people's "hope," but anything outside of that isn't really his business. sure, trying to help their relationship was one thing, but he was only giving his thoughts from what he say that one time. it doesn't stop him from following right beside her since he doubts she's going to budge from the idea anyway. )

You wanted him to "open his eyes," but even I'm not use when it comes to that. Bringing me along is a waste.

now when she attacks him with the glob, he glances up at her as if staying right through her. it's only for a moment before he laughs it off, raising his hand to touch where she decided to wipe off the soap. with it getting over his fingers, he slowly stands up properly, and reaching out to pinch her nose — so that he can rub it on her face — he nods his head afterwards. )

Maybe I should join the art club, this really is a stress reliever!

( he stands in place, looking at where the shadow stares to see if anything is there — once that's confirmed, he'll follow after her shadow. well, following isn't probably accurate, actually he's only going this way in search of a proper mirror. while this prolongs the trip, it doesn't matter just in case maya's shadow takes a detour...

following after a shadow? insane to do when in dark yogen, but you never know, maybe she'll take him to a mirror faster than the pace he's going at it. so it's like killing two birds with one stone. )

( he's not fighting to keep the knife, instead, he allows rokkun to take it with ease. there's no need for him to keep something he doesn't need. besides, he does have a switchblade on him so rokkun just needs to act up one time, just one time! )

( getting up from his chair, komaeda proceeds to look for that specific book within the bookshelves. this is probably hiro's chance to make a run for it while the other has his back turned. if he does, it's not like komaeda won't know, but he does seem to be pulling down a few books, glancing at the front cover before putting them back where it belongs. his finger presses against the spine, dragging it across the list of books until he finds something similar — five night's at fridays — close but no cigar.

he doesn't stop though as he continues in his search. he doubts hiro will look for it. )

( he understands the gesture of time, watching every movement hiro makes until he holds out his palms. in response, komaeda sits in place without moving to play off hiro's request. the only thing about him that does move is his body as he breathes in and out, and his eyes that blink every so often while waiting for the other's next request. )

The shadow makes its way upstairs, upstairs, and more upstairs, winding up the stairwell all the way to the fourth floor before taking a right towards the ??? wing where Komaeda, if he tries to follow, won't be able to get that door open despite the deterioration in the rest of the school. ]

[ What good is hope? Rokkun can't take advantage of hope. Hope is something so personal, anyways, that it's hard to see it affect others. They really do need more murders and class trials for the full effect, something he could maybe instigate if he were on the student council, but... nah. ]
