...Yeah. I'm always so focused on the ground, I didn't know any of that about space! It'd be so cool to see everything from space!

[ Nighttime wouldn't be so bad, they think, if they weren't stuck here on earth. ]

[ Oh please, if there's no replacement mask, Kazuki wouldn't mind wearing the gas mask. Imagine if you don't have spirit sight and you look out the window at night and there's just a floating gas mask circling the tree, this is why npc-kun doesn't come out at night.

anyways... Kazuki only looks up with he hears his name called, turning towards Komaeda as if looking at him despite not being able to. ]

Good evening. Are you asking permission, or questioning if you are able to?

[ Either way, he holds his hand out for Komaeda to touch. Komaeda will only pass through him, though, feeling cold air where a body would be. ]

[adsum]

[ They wrinkle their nose at the cheek pinch and whaps at Komaeda's hand when he suggests ruining their eyes because no, stop. They need those bangs to hide their eyes when they're sad and glasses would just get in the way and ruin the effect. ]

They're normal glasses. People with glasses usually have spares, because glasses are flimsy and easy to break, and you can't wait two weeks for an optometrist appointment without a backup.

[adsum]

I believe that's what you saw.

[ Have some faith in him, please, ]

Was it different from the lights?

[commences]

( wait, i got something even better: either the gas mask or this, i'll even regain it just so he's a floating skull head, because the image... is making me cry. npc-kun looks out their window and sees the skull head, and just faints. )

You're really polite, that means you must be very well trained...

( which, komaeda doesn't want to touch his hand, instead... he wants to touch the inside of his... void black eyes, which is kind of sad when it goes through... like a ghost. the cold doesn't bother him, it feels almost likened to his own skin, and so he smiles afterwards as if he's satisfied. )

The school's dog... how unfortunate, you shouldn't have let them win...

( sighs!! )

I'll give you the glasses for a totem.

( alright, he's decided what he's wanted, and if these glasses are useless... there's no need for him to use them. komaeda's attitude seems very flighty with how he pulls away from npc-kun at being smacked, and he shakes his hand as if it hurts just a little. )

Ow... ow... you know I wouldn't hurt you if I can help it!

[commences]

They were like glass... along with the birds, and flowers... it was like being in stasis, until they came into contact with us... and immediately they changed.

( what did they do? give life to what's already dead? after what helena did by killing them all in one fell swoop, that doesn't seem like the case. )

Was that part of your dream different?

( he pauses, looking out beyond the horizon... is the spider lillies out? )

Sometimes it hurts the most when the other person doesn't mean it.

[ They hold the sides of the glasses to their face when Komaeda pulls away. Their glasses now. ]

What's that supposed to mean?

( he rubs the smacked area slowly, trying to ease away the pain as he watches the other. )

I will, you have tons of totems... evidence for something that could help the evidence, it's pretty equal.

[adsum]

It means thoughtlessness hurts more than maliciousness.

[ Something something the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference ]

[ ignoring... the totem comment ]

So which rocks do you want for the glasses?

I want a totem. Why won't you sell me one?

I don't want you to lose too much of yourself.

[ okay, so real talk, ]

( well he knows he can't get the death one... but everything else? )

They're part of the case, so it'd do no good to have too many floating around.

[ Birds and flowers... wish that were him ]

In my dream, I'm walking through a forest, and there's statues of people. Faces I don't recognize, but it feels like I should. Maybe I haven't met them yet. I'm dying... it hurts... but no matter who I reach out to for help, they crumble away at the slightest touch. [ a breath, something like a laugh, but not quite ] They don't even leave blood behind, to warm me from the snow.

[ The spider lilies aren't out yet, not until the end of the month during the equinox. The forest is still green. ]

[commences]

Almost sounds like that dream was someone elses, a different take on life.

( no spider lillies... what a shame, but komaeda will push himself up so that he can stand, and he's going to balance himself on the edge of the rooftop — his arms held out as he tries to think about it. )

...And they just turn to dust? ( he takes a step, eyes glancing down at his foot. ) That's quite the dilemma; there was a graveyard of stone, do you believe that's their resting place?

( why did they have animals, and rokkun stumbled upon lifeless, stone entities... he hums in thought, thinking, wobbling a bit, but he's taking another step forward... he's having fun, don't worry. )

But... we should stay in one place to fully understand the innerworkings of what happened, why did... it change so drastically...

[adsum]

If you can't hear, how are you going to listen to me? If you can't see, how are you supposed to watch me? If you can't feel my hugs, they stop meaning anything. If you fall unconscious forever or you die, I'll be sad. That's too much.

...You aren't meant to care about me that much.

( he says that, but it's a full list, one that makes komaeda a little uncomfortable... his life doesn't mean that much, or what he tells himself. each of those totems have a consequence, but they would help him in different ways, and part of him is curious... whether if he takes one, will it be the end for him, he's never faced death proper — well, that's a lie, considering where they are. )

Hm... ( he gets onto his knees, i don't know how they're positioned, but he'll scuttle over with his arms open, wrapping them around npc-kun and rocks them from left to right. )

How do I assist hope if I don't sacrifice pieces of myself for it...

( he hugs a little tighter, his attempt to soothe the other. )

[ Mm. They don't mean to care about people so much either, burying their face against Komaeda's chest and holding on tight to the back of his jacket, trying to give him the best hug they can muster, because someday, he won't be here anymore, he won't be able to feel their hugs or hear them laugh or watch them grow up.

And they'll be so sad. ]

...Be there for my hope. I want all of you there— not just your words, or your memory. I want you to hold me tight and tell me it's going to be okay and be there for me when I need you. I want all the pieces that make up the whole.

[ They're not meant to care so much. But they can't help what they feel. ]

( you know what, i 100% believe that's what'd happen. )

( she's yelling so loud the whole damn school can hear her probably but look )

Right? But you shouldn't keep your head down so much, Boss, there's so much to see just by looking up!

I dunno if I'd be an astronaut if I wasn't an idol though, 'cause they have to go through a lot of classes and I'd rather bounce around in those gravity chambers they train in. ☆ But maybe I can become the first idol in space...? Like those special guests they have sometimes.

( gets on his knees, grabs ishimaru's legs and holds onto them. )

Ishimaru-kun! It's for you, we brought it for you!

( is the door open, is maya attackable. )

[Komaeda and Rika... He can't call them the people he trusts most in the world. But at the very least, Ishimaru doubts that Rika would lie about something like this - and in coordination with Komaeda. Plus, if a body really was discovered, he can't afford to ignore this!]

...Ah! My apologies, Arisu-kun, but this sounds like a true emergency!!
