Name: Hajun Yeon (Western Order)

History:

Son of the head of Yeon Conglomerate, Hajun was actually adopted into the family for the sole purpose of inheriting and succeeding the company once he became of age. He was taken care of, given the best education and a warm home to live in, but everything came to an abrupt halt the moment his adopted parents give birth to a son. Branded an unneeded child, his parents send him to Japan -- alone, he finds a career in modeling while still being financed by the family that had abandoned him. He goes to school and meets both Allen Sugasano and Anne Faulkner who later become his roommates. Finding solace in wanting to prove to the world that constantly tried destroying their sense of self, they formed the hip hop group BAE.

In present day: club PARADOX, a competition where hip hop units compete for the grand prize of ten million yen and opportunity to go against the unit Buraikan, revives after ten years of silence and invites BAE. Determined to win, BAE accept the invitiation and begin to delve deeper into club PARADOX, Yeon Conglomerate, and the supposedly disbanded Alter Trigger that distributes phantom metal.

Personality:

"Of course, with a smile as usual."
Hajun is flawless -- at least that's what he wants the entire world to see him as. Handsome and well-mannered, successful and independent, to the public his practiced smile has become so engraved to his character that everyone believes it to be true. His fans approach him with giddiness and receive unhesitating fanservice; it's expected but he knows just how to wrap a person around his fingers so that almost anything he says sounds like a compliment. However, anyone familiar would undoubtedly recognize that this is just a mask that he wears.

In reality Hajun is quite sadistic and doesn't hold his tongue, lacing his sentences with insults that are accompanied by his usual, boyish tone. When he's faced to go against his professor during club PARADOX he doesn't hesitate to say that their sound is far too old and "better to be admired in a museum"; he's not a man who minces his words and strikes at other's weaknesses once he sees an opportunity. This is especially shown when one of the twins from cozmez, Kanata, steals Allen's phantometal. Hajun reluctantly finds them in the back alleys and compares their attempts at winning by sabotaging BAE a tactic for rats. Continuing to insult their way of living as well as their desire for money, only finding it admirable that they managed to survive so far living life with zero confidence.

He pokes and prods at a person until they snap, that is Hajun's greatest defense and offense. Kanata and their professors own team, That Cat's Whiskers, are victims of his worst venom, but Allen and Anne suffer from his antics as well. Admittedly he speaks to them like you would your friends, even if he describes BAE as coworkers, he never aims to maliciously hurt either of them like he does the rest of the world when he's allowed to show his second face. He teases Allen when he gets a part time job at CANDY as a host, even going as far as to arrive, completely unannounced, as a customer expecting good service. And whenever Anne attempts at cooking he "politely" reminds him of all the times they were nearly sent to the emergency room. But these are the people closes to him, and while he may come off as rude and uncaring, he cares for both of them deeply -- like family.

And admittedly their relationship is something that Hajun doesn't want to ruin, because BAE is the only family that he has left. Adopted into the Yeon family, he was originally groomed to become the head of the family once he had become of age; raised diligently and with care, he noted that both of his parents were kind to him, or at least that's what he assumed considering that he was young when they decided to cut him off. He was referred to as "unneeded" by the two people who raised him the moment his mother birthed her son, because the most important trait about their company is to be related by blood. This tore Hajun apart, and despite being only a child he couldn't find it within himself to cry -- he smiled, nodded his head, and departed to Japan alone.

Abandoned. Unwanted. Deceived.

This moment is the catalyst of all of Hajun's bitterness. His silent rage and desire to watch as everything around him crumbles, taking joy in the thought of single-handedly ruining Yeon Conglomerate by exposing their ties to the abandoned phantometal distributers Alter Trigger. He desperately wants revenge and he pours all of his energy into ensuring that he'll make it to his goal, even if it means sacrificing his body. This is revealed later on, just before they are meant to go on stage against AKYR, that Hajun's phantometal's somatic was weakening his body to the point that it nearly kills him. It's an agonizing pain that he struggled to keep hidden with the same smile he has perfected, and it was only with the help of both Allen and Anne that he was able to survive the erosion his metal sent straight to his heart.

It should also be noted that while he normally endures all of this negativity, Hajun has been shown to have a quick fuse. The moment someone begins to see through him, sees into the child that he truly is, he responds with an anger that startles even the hot-headed Allen. This is revealed when Ryu begins speaking of his insecurities and how much he is hiding, somehow able to see past his mask, which in turn leads to Hajun shoving him away and locking himself away in his room. Initially most believed this to be a "trap reaction" to his phantometal, but in reality the idea of being stripped down to the bone, revealed to everyone without his consent, brought him into an immediate fight-or-flight mode. Or, rather, fight-and-flight.

Overall, to understand Hajun Yeon, one must first understand that there are virtually two sides of him: there's the smiling young man who teases his fans and friends, and then there's the child horrified of the idea that he may once again be abandoned by the people he cares for the most. This is all he has, this is all he has ever wanted, and the last thing he wants is for it all to slip out of his hands and be left alone. It's a trauma that still holds heavily in his heart, shaping him into the person that he is today, and in return we can see that there is still remnants of that child who desperately craves to be loved unconditionally.

Powers/abilities:

Hajun is a pretty normal guy; he trains regularly to keep his stamina up, but his constitution is considerably weaker than most. Otherwise he's the perfect househusband and can rap and sing well.

Hajun does, however, have a feather ring that is infused with phantometal. It reacts to his DNA and allows him to generate illusions -- from stage backdrops to literal "phantoms", all dependent on his emotions. Though the metal does effect his state of mind, causing a "trap reaction", where he is subject to his trauma and may lose consciousness for a long period time. Other responses to trap reactions include going on a rampage or simply breaking down, and since Hajun is unable to predict his response he usually locks himself up in his room.

Hajun describes himself as flawless, but if asked to take the question seriously he'd say that he's handsome, well-behaved, and a great cook. As a model he has a reputation and saves face despite his rotten personality by acting like a gentleman; he does the cooking, the cleaning, basically everything that begs to be taken home to show off to your parents.

Due to his past Hajun is a difficult character to get an honest answer from. He keeps everyone at arm's length and intends to keep them there, which of course also makes them subject to his sarcastic remarks and downright ugly insults. Anne even says that while Hajun has a nice face his personality is what really pisses everyone off.

Unfortunately, Hajun is already living in the fear that he's branded as an unwanted child. He's also deadly afraid of being deceived like he was before by the "parents" that had adopted him, as well as the mask that he hides behind falling apart and exposing him for what he really is: a child desperate for love.

✽ What would your character choose for a last meal?

Something that he can make himself: ginger soup. It's also something that Anne and Allen have both requested for him to cook.

Hajun has never killed a person, but if he ever were to the affects would last for a lifetime. In general he is a very vengeful person who wants to strike back at the world for deceiving him, but to extend this rage to the point of killing someone would undoubtedly leave him traumatized and conflicted about his goals.
