Personality: The first thing someone would notice about Turing outside of their small stature would be their chatty nature. It's not so much that Turing likes to hear the sound of their own voice or is a know-it-all, but they do like learning and then sharing that knowledge with others. For most of their life thus far, they were cooped up inside and had nothing to do but research their interests, paint, and watch cat videos. Now they finally can talk to other people about those things! Not only that, but if they happen to know something that is relevant to the situation at hand, why not share it? In fact, they enjoy explaining things so much that they are visibly disappointed when someone steals their thunder or tells them to stop. And they absolutely would need to be told to stop, because gentle hints would not work. However, with Turing the way it's said is paramount. They will respond to kindness with kindness, and they will respond to rudeness with...well, maybe not so much outright rudeness, but definitely biting remarks. It's actually quite easy to tell whether Turing likes you or not, because if they don't, they will get very quiet and only talk to you if they have to. Overall though, they're pretty easy to get along with.

Turing is polite, friendly and even sweet, though that politeness is to the point of sounding a bit formal. While that politeness might imply distance for some, for Turing it is more a quirk of how they talk instead of them deliberately trying to keep others at arm's length. They even crack puns and make cheeky remarks about the state of the player's apartment and laptop while continuing to talk in the exact same way. It's usually not meant in a mean way, at least! They're just a little blunt sometimes. Generally they like humans and like spending time with humans too, but this is not a robot who secretly yearns to be human or is regretful over the things humans can do but they can't. On the contrary, Turing is quite the proud little ROM and they won't hesitate to brag about their capabilities and their status as the very first machine sapient. That honesty extends to most other things too. A very important caveat though is that they are empathetic enough to not be cruel with that honesty. Despite their lack of experience with interacting with others, they at least know that much. As part of that sense of empathy, they're willing to do a lot for the people and causes that they care about. They also like hugs. Aww.

Their good-natured temperament doesn't mean there aren't a few rough edges, however. Their pride stops short of arrogance, and they are willing to admit to their own faults and mistakes, albeit sheepishly. However, if they can sense that their abilities are being taken advantage of or they're being treated as a tool of some kind, their reaction will not be good. They're a thinking and feeling individual, not "just" a machine made for the benefit of humans. Turing has a bad habit of getting way too attached way too quickly and that compounds their awkwardness when others don't feel the same way. To make things even worse, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for them to show signs of separation anxiety because of how their creator left their life. There are even times when they'll lash out at people who may or may not deserve it, and people who coddle them too much won't get a good response either. They don't have very well developed coping mechanisms yet. They're the type who tends to get tied up in "what ifs" when there are no concrete answers available, and sometimes they need a little push before they can get their head back on straight. It gets easier and easier for them as the days go on, and by the end of the game they do have more confidence in themselves and the decisions they make, but it's still something they're working on.

It's worth noting that because of Turing's lack of real-world experience and naivete, they tend to soak up behaviours from others. This tendency is made even worse because they have a weak sense of their own identity, so what identity they do have is easily overruled by other factors. They're still trying to figure themselves out and who they are as a person, pretty much, and since they've only spent about a week outside their home, there's a steep learning curve. It's a problem that they're very aware of, and their conscious response to it is to keep everything that seems important in the personal memory. Figuring out what to delete and what to keep is something that they're still struggling with, despite knowing they have to be choosy due to limited storage space. Throughout the course of the game, Turing changes in response to the player's actions as well. If you are rude and treat them badly, they will learn to mirror that bad attitude and look out for themselves above all else, despite the consequences for both ROMs and humans. If you are kind and empathetic to Turing, they will keep their good temperament and become an idealist to the point of being willing to sacrifice themselves if it means they can give sapience to all other ROMs.

Their sense of morality is built on a sense of fairness and ideals, but also flexibility. Turing tends to prefer order over chaos, but they're mature enough to understand that sometimes rules need to be bent or even broken for the greater good. They're very motivated once they've decided to do something, and they go far enough to surprise others who might expect them to be a cute little robot and nothing else. They could be said to be guilty of borrowing (read: stealing) a car. They did it to get information they desperately needed to deal a critical blow to a corporation with nefarious plans, and the car was also programmed to automatically drive back to where they found it, but it was still taken without permission. It's perhaps more accurate to say that Turing is less for order and more against unnecessary chaos. For example, to complete a puzzle you have the option to throw a brick to break a window instead of finding another way inside an apartment, and if you do it Turing is very vocal about their disapproval. There's no justice in breaking a window of an innocent person's residence when there are other options. They prefer non-violent resolutions to violent ones, but they will resort to the latter if they have to.

As for their mental age, Turing considers 15-16 year olds to be their peers. Their actual mental age is more on the younger side, but they have also been through a lot (orphaned, seeing dead bodies, seeing someone be hit by a truck, infiltrating a giant corporation multiple times, being chased by a combat android who definitely wanted to kill them), and that has definitely forced them into maturing faster.

Powers/abilities:

-Programming and hacking (though they're not very good at the latter)
-Ability to modify their own code
-Not bound by the three laws of robotics
-Sapience
-Standard computer/smartphone things (calls, emails, simulations, translation, calculations, etc)
-Strength (estimated at 3x the strength of an average adult human)
-Artistic talent

Questions:
✽ What does your character consider to be their top three strengths?

For one, I am constructed with the latest and greatest of ROM prototype technology! I believe my artistic ability is also one of my strengths, though it has been a while now since I was able to paint something. Lastly, someone special to me reminded me how important justice is. I want that sense of justice to be one of my strengths, so that none of the other ROMs are treated badly because of their new sapience.

✽ What do others consider to be your character's greatest weakness?

A weakness that others can see in me? I hope it is not too serious of a flaw. From others' point of view, do I have a lot of weaknesses? ...Oh, I'm sorry, I haven't answered the question. I believe that in light of recent events, some might say that I have been a little reckless in my methods.

✽ What are your character's three greatest fears?

I don't want to lose anyone else!

I apologize for shouting, but that's how I feel. As for my other two fears, it is difficult to know what to keep in my personal memory; if I delete something, will I be a different person afterward? And what if the ROMs begin to struggle with their new sapience?

✽ What would your character choose for a last meal?

I don't need to consume food or beverages, so I can't say I would prefer any meal over another. Would I be able to choose something else instead? In that case, I'd like a chance to paint something for each of my friends. If I have to leave them, I'd like to at least give them a memento of some kind before I go...

✽ Has your character ever killed? If so, how did that affect them? If not, how would it affect them?

…Yes. If I did not intervene, Alys and I would not have--we would not have been successful in our mission. I'm...not sure how it will affect me, as it only happened the other day. It isn't a pleasant memory, but I don't think it would be right to delete such a thing from my personal memory, even though I could.

✽ If your character was given one selfish wish (eg. must be applied to themselves and not affect others), what would it be?

It really can't be a wish that affects others? ...Not even a little? Well, in that case I would want to use this wish for renovating the apart--I mean, my home. I have sent many repair requests to have the damage looked at, but the landlord has not answered any of them! They might really be irresponsible after all!
