( it's fine, komaeda won't come close if rika's here, mostly because they're in cahoots and know their roles in the grand scheme of things (aka, the cafe plan.) but also, rika can fend him off? akira should be relieved. )

He's getting the sense that he should just shut up instead of engaging Rika, though, so he clamps his mouth shut and tries to walk as fast as he can downstairs to the locker area, head down and making zero eye contact with anybody like he's hoping they can sense he's being BULLIED into this, he doesn't have a girl hanging off his arm by choice. ]

anyway, since he won't make eye contact with people, she will do it for him, smiling brightly at everyone passing them by, truly an angel who can do no wrong... and especially not bully a boy into anything, smh!! )

[ Nanami manages to catch sight of them and gives exactly what he pictured would happen: A doe-eyed look. But then a gentle wave when she finally realizes what is going on after hearing what he says. Her lips read: Good Luck. ]

( he came with nanami so he's going to cheer too if nanami put her time in to appreciate his efforts. )

Uh! Right, the games.

[ Like it's his fault they're stalling. But okay, okay, it's still the lockers that they go to despite Nanami having betrayed and ditched him. ... Going to position himself so Rika can't see his locker combination while he fiddles with it to get it open. ]

What do you think you're interested in? I have several... Games that center around collecting, role-playing ones, fighting games, puzzles...

( see, if he didn't try to hide it, she wouldn't care, but since he does, she keeps trying to peek over his shoulder, and then under his arm, and then around him, just to be annoying. )

It's... they're more like an adventure roleplay, gathering a party and fighting monsters and saving the world.

( she, in the other hand, seems delighted in how miserable he looks. listen... it's funny? once she's done laughing, and probably wiping a tear from her eye, she looks at him again: )

You got any dress-up games?! ... um, otherwise, I dunno... candy crush? Just show me anything that looks cool. Maybe your fav?

[ Why is he still humoring her... But he does, opening his locker and looking through the boxes inside for a specific game cartridge that he inserts inside a teal Gameboy Color.

It's Harvest Moon, which is none of the above in terms of what Rika asks for, but it's what he hands over to her. ]

It's like... there's candy... and when you see some candy of the same color lined up, you crush it!!

( it's like, one of the very few games she knows, mostly because she doesn't care about these. she also knows some LINE games? )

So, like... tetris... sort of.

[ The next game they play can be tetris, but tetris isn't a game that will convert somebody to becoming a gamer. ]

But, okay. Let's sit down. [ Right here, in front of the lockers. ] This is yes, no, these to move... press the start button when it prompts you. You get to choose a character, and your name.

Hmm... yeah, kind of! It's more complicated, though! There's levels where chocolate spreads, so you have to be quick!! And power-ups!

( if she explains candy crush well enough, can akira make it, real talk )

Oh... ( well, she's gonna listen and follow instructions, at least, pressing buttons in order to test everything out. she names her character Rikarin☆, and waits for it to load. ) So what is the game about?

( she asks, as the screen begins to change. something something inherited farm? )

[ Real talk... maybe. Chihiro might have better luck making the game.

The nickname makes him smile a little, but he turns his attention to the game and explains it much better than I can because I've never actually played the game. You go around taking care of the plants and raising animals and collecting materials and talking with people and finding romance... it's a game that has it all, and the longer he talks the more excited he sounds about a SOL farming simulator. ]

( she thinks she understands, but the farming? tedious. the animals, in the other hand, are cute, and when she makes her first coop, she names her chicken after akira.

... it's kind of fitting, right? she also gives its' first egg to the npc that most resembles rokkun, because obviously that's who she's gonna marry in this sol dating sim. )

Oh, Akki... ( AND SPEAKING OF DOMESTICITY ) I have a small request!

[ Rokkun is so generic Japanese high school student that Akira can't tell that's who she's basing the character off of, but having the chicken be named after him... cute... he does look a little happy about that, even if she focuses more on the animals and lets her crops die. ]
