( the floor's cold which makes it a better alternative to be because of the weather, and he's also cold by nature so he's going to lay in place as he tries to get over his throbbing headache. he keeps his eyes closed as his head is attacked by her foot, it's not so bad, considering things seem to be going perfectly — something about him reincarnated as the rat.

is he going to get up? at first, no, but it's the constant prodding of her foot that makes komaeda get up, and wants to move. he's not going to do much as he looks around, seeing all the chairs are knocked over, and he's going to crawl over to rokkun, and lay his head on his lap.

inb4 rokkun is thinking about killing komaeda once and for all. )

[ He's trying very hard to ignore all of this, biting at the inside of his cheek to keep himself from glancing over his shoulder or asking who Koma-kyun is, but all thoughts of wiped from his mind when Komaeda lies his head on his lap like, what?? ]

by the time amami's drying off his hands with some paper towel, rika's already kicked komaeda off the floor, and now he's got his head in rokkun's lap, and amami almost feels like he's intruding on something when he considers coming over. then he remembers the rika thing, and you know what — he doesn't feel quite so bad about interrupting anymore. in fact, he's gonna just come right up on the other side of rokkun, glancing at his sketch (what he drawin...) before turning his attention to the man, the myth, the legend himself. )

Sorry for barging in all of a sudden, and for the, uh... ( glancing at the half-dozen desks and easels komaeda knocked over ) mess.

( in his defense, there was absolutely no way he could have predicted komaeda would do that, but he'll wave rika over too while he's got his attention over there. )

We had a bit of a situation in the other room.

( honestly, she doesn't want to interrupt, either, especially knowing rokkun's feelings, but... maybe it's because he doesn't, amami just goes to approach them. she looks at komaeda, then at rokkun, and sighs. fine, whatever, she can swallow this and approach, too, with the rat still in her hand, resting her chin on top of rokkun's head, like he's done to her before, and keeping quiet.

she's looking at the sketch, but most importantly... she's thinking about what to feed the little rat... it'd be ideal if another rat mom adopted it, because otherwise, what are they gonna feed it?

( komaeda lifts his hand so that the tips of his fingers brush against his hand, probably a silent request that he doesn't have to do that. it's not too long after that he drops his hand back onto rokkun's leg, and looks towards amami for a moment, ah, truly, he shouldn't even be in this position, but his body is killing him? he literally fell on the floor and was kicked by rika a numerous of times, he should stay where he is, but...

he pushes himself up properly, getting to his feet as he holds out a hand towards amami. )

You remember him, don't you?

( he speaks, pleased like someone wanting to introduce their favorite child. sighs, the love he has for all the ultimates comes out that way, but at least there's pure intentions. even as his eyes cast over rika and the child in her hands, he ignores it for a moment because this is first ultimate, first serve. )

( his eyes stare into rokkun's own with a satisfied smile considering he should be aware of what he's talking about. )

He looks at them like they're a little bit insane, and it's a good thing Komaeda gets off his lap because Rokkun would have stood up anyways, placing a large piece of clean cardboard over his sketch so none of them touch and smear the graphite and turning to Rika. ]

You guys are all over the place... Never mind rocks at the moment; you should be boiling water for a hot water bottle for that thing. I'll grab a dropper from the science room and warm up some milk and—-

A fluffy white cat's paw appears from under the door, pawing through the gap. Treat? Treat for Lily May? Another treat, anyways. She already found Naughty Wilbur. ]

anyway, it's fine. amami wasn't quite expecting this level of topic-hopping insanity either, and he looks at komaeda like he's some kind of alien when he starts going off about some "debt" being "paid" like rokkun the godfather or some shit.

the cat? the cat is secondary. amami is legitimately not concerned at all beyond the fact that he'd feel kind of bad if she's got rat guts on her mouth from finding wilbur but, otherwise, he was not here for the bev incident outside the bathroom, so he does not know there is reason to fear a cat. )

Rokkun remains still as he watches as the cat flexes its claws trying to reach the token that's just out of her reach, chirruping as Komaeda speaks as if recognizing his voice and responding to it. There's a thud on the other side of the door, of a cat that's flopped onto its side to more comfortably reach its paw under the door instead of crouching in front of it. ]

( it's... cute, to be honest. komaeda's realest friend: lily may.

and in the meantime, amami will be giving rika the most apologetic look for this. )

at least it seems like komaeda's got the cat covered, judging by how taken he is by playing with her, so... yeah, the rest of them can sneak out. )

( it's just him and lily may here, which he makes sure to place the token on her paw before snatching it away so she can't actually have it. it's not done purposely like he does with the treat, but he is playing with her on his own accord rather than being the bait.

who knew that love transcends through plotting to become genuine.

he waits for her paw to stop moving, and he drops it next to her so that she can swipe it anytime — it makes a bit of noise when it hits the ground, but that's to alert her where to move her pawsies next. )

[ She can't see the toy, so all she has to rely on is sound and her little twitch paws snatching half a second later at any given clink upon the ground— and then freezing entirely when the other door opens and her attention is snatched by the sound of the other door opening.

She slowly withdraws her paw. And goes tap tap tap over to Rika, mewing sweetly up at her, plume tail straight up in the air. ]

( oh!! she is so sweet! amami's gonna crouch down to pet her, which will include actual petting for sure, but also include holding her so that she can't run off while he does so. with a glance to rika — )

she goes on ahead and runs into the home ec room, searching for milk. once she finds it, she carefully pours it into a pot and starts to warm it up, just a little bit. it's okay lil rat... daddy #3 will be here with the dropper soon... where tf is daddy #2 to boil the water though??? )

( komaeda is coming over to get lily may because that's his duty, since amami is holding her back, he'll kneel down and wrap his arms around her fluffy little waist. as soon as he thinks she's safely in his grasp, he's going to stand up properly to keep her close.

listen lily may, he's on your side, trust him!

this is where the difficulty starts, there's three people which means there's three directions he can take lily may to cause problems. perhaps she gets to choose where it all starts first —

[ Mrrrr... Lily May squirms a little from being passed between Amami and Komaeda, not really liking to be held without something solid to sit on but will tolerate it for a short while, especially since Komaeda has longer legs than her cute little stubby ones so he'll be able to catch up with Rika faster— it's her that the cat paws the air at, still wanting that snack.

It takes Daddy #3 less than two seconds to locate and grab a dropper, so ??? he supposes they'll meet in the home ec room, expecting to hear the other club members start shrieking any moment now about there being any sort of rat inside the kitchen. ]

( yeah, that probably checks out. though when amami gets there, he closes the door behind him before komaeda comes in, then kind of stands there for a minute after — hope that rika is already boiling the water on the side too, because amami will be on komaeda control duty for a bit here. c'mon, the whole point was to not give the cat access to rika's new pet rat.

rokkun may pass though, if he comes in after them. )

( she does Not care about anyone shrieking when they see a rat, and more importantly, it's a very tiny, hairless, baby rat, so why are they screaming!! she'll hide it from public view, though, keeping it warm with her fingers while she waits for rokkun to catch up with that dropper.

thank you daddy #2... please guard the door for her while she moves to boil the water. it's hard to do everything with one hand!! )

( actually trash #1 and super kitty supreme princess lily may #1 will go the opposite direction of where the rat is. he's not betraying his darling lily may, but he is going to go to the vending machine so he can see what sort of cat food they have in stock this month — i feel like he did this last month as well, but you see, he wants her to have the best since she seems to be hungry.

he is going to crouch, keep her close, and check what's inside. the quicker they get cat food, the quicker they can go to home ec and "wet" it with the blood of the soul in the pipes where the wilbur jr. resides. )

[ Mr... rrr... okay. I don't know where rat blood ranks in Lily May's food preferences but also there was never cat food in the vending machines because otherwise there will absolutely be a student who doesn't know better who would purchase and crunch kitty kibble. Komaeda's luck has it, though, that there's those packets of tuna in stock and he can grab one of those for her.

Rokkun, in the meanwhile, returns with the dropper which he sets down on a clean napkin before looking in the cupboards for a spare piece of cloth he can fold into some sort of nest so Rika can set the thing down, and a second he pulls out and hands to her: ]

Once the water's boiling, soak this in it. I'll get a ziplock bag for you to put it inside, and another towel to wrap around it, and that should hold the heat for a while without being too hot. Rantarou, can you look in the cupboards above the dishware and see if you can find any Q-tips? Bring the whole box if there are any.

Yeah, no problem.

( look at this little veterinarian go... good for him. if rokkun knows what he's doing, amami's more than happy to follow his lead, heading over to the area he's indicated to start sorting through the cupboards... even if q-tips in the kitchen is kind of a new one. he finds them though, as puzzling as that is, and he'll bring them over with a glance to how the little rat is doing. )

( rokkun is... surprisingly knowledgeable about keeping little rats alive... but maybe it's because he's a Nature Guy, she realizes. maybe he's seen some small animals struggle in the wild, who knows.

at any rate, she reluctantly sets wilbur jr. down on the cloth and takes another piece from rokkun, nodding. )

Won't soaking this in boiling water be too hot? ( she glances down at the cloth, then back up to rokkun, then to rantarou, who returns with q-tips. what are these for, anyway... )

( success, their tuna, which he's going to carry both lily may and himself to the room where everyone is stationed, and he'll make sure that lily may does NOT see the baby rat. he leaves those three to managing wilbur downy jr. since he believes they don't need him in that front — holding lily may down is already a job. he's moving to the cabinets to see if he can find a bowl so that he can pour the tuna he got inside. now he doesn't want her to lose interest in him or the food, so komaeda's going to rip open one of the packs so he can give her a little whiff.

i know baby rat probably smells better, but this is the good tuna... hopefully. )
