When they're all finished, she goes to the desk and slides the book off its surface, thick and heavy enough that she has to wrap both arms around it and lug it underneath the desk, curling up in one corner with the book opened in front of her. The words on the pages are too long and complicated for her but that's okay; she flips through the book backwards, just wanting to see the pictures. ]

It looks like they're done cleaning up, so... he waves and smiles apologetically at Nene, since he did kind of drag her into this with no context. He'll explain... later... but since the ghost girl seems to have settled down, he finds a pen and some paper and follows after her. He doesn't fit under the desk (not comfortably), but he can still sit down next to her from slightly outside.
hopefully she can read at all because otherwise wow this is going to make it hard to communicate, anyway, writing a note and holding it out for her]
