BELATEDLY..... sometime early may, maya-san cmere
his expression shifts quickly and comically. first amused in that way he always is, then somewhat surprised as if the surroundings he takes in as he looks side to side aren't what he expects. the why for that surprise is obvious, when he embarrassingly exclaims to no one: ]
Huh? Where is everyone? Is it over?! Am I late? Whoops!
[ WHOOPS...... figures on a day he actually decides to Go, he ends up fashionably late... ]
Well, whatever. Hmhmhm, lemme turn this tragedy into a masterpiece... There won't be me and a buncha people like I thought, but me and a piano. That's not too bad either! ♪
[ and figures on a day he decides to bum the school piano alone after embarrassingly not showing up when he meant to, he's.... actually not alone. he hasn't noticed that yet, either. classic.
enjoy your disaster maya. hope you weren't doing anything productive or peaceful in here. ]
me shoving all my plot threads aside for leo
It really is none of her business, and she's not the president of the music club either, but... ]
You really should make up your mind about this club. I don't think I've seen you for more than two consecutive days at a time, Tsukinaga.
ORRRIIIIIII
truly in his own little world. evident from the way he jolts at the voice from someone he obviously shouldn't have missed. but he does that, and does that often -- as much as he shouldn't, as much as he knows he shouldn't.
business as usual. horrible habits to have in murder school, too. but it's fine! as fine as casually haunting the music club is to this peabrain's mind...... the simple reason why the response to something that should elicit some sort of shame isn't shame. ]
Wahaha, woah! And you should teach me how to blend in and show up out of nowhere while being productive! Like a pretty piano accompaniment, which I guess is kinda fitting--
[ blending in, he says, but truly he just wasn't paying attention.
speaking of productivity, however, leo does decide to move over some chairs and music stands as he continues to speak... it's more of a casual way to clear his way to the piano, however, than an active attempt to make himself useful. ]
--Anyway, showing up now and again doesn't hurt if I make up for a ton of visits with what I bring with one, right? [ wow, that sounds arrogant as shit. but he means it as less of a boast, and more as a... lighthearted kind of fact. maybe that makes it worse. ] I'm not really the type to settle down for too long... Uh, except for one specific place, I guess? So I'm not gonna promise you that that's gonna change just because you said that to my face. I really did mean to drop by this time, though!
[ another thing that, like, maybe makes it worse. ]

[ It's hard to keep up, the polar opposite of her brother who prefers to neither speak nor move if he can help it, and thus the sort of person Maya isn't all that great at dealing with. There's the feeling of being talked at rather than spoken to, which, honestly? Despite being annoying, makes it easy for her to tune a lot of that out and pick and choose what she needs to needle him with. ]
Club's over, so if you're going to drop by, at least come earlier. Especially if you're going to be changing our music all of a sudden— everybody will need time to practice, and you should be there to say what's done right or wrong.
[ That's what this is about, isn't it? She squints at the music score in his hands that he had called a tragedy. Ralph Vaughan Williams would cry. ]

but leo's not so far into the nonsensical that the truth of maya's statement doesn't ring true! er, both of them. enough people have told him he's hard to follow, though he thrives on that chaos. and maybe he should drop by on time if he's going to dump music in their lap, if only because it's somewhat of a waste if he doesn't catch whatever they make of it. not to see if it's right or wrong. just to see what it is.
... he'ssss not going to be on time regardless. there's failsafes for that anyway -- an idea that strikes at the exact same time a little sparkle of amusement comes through in his gaze, as he moves chairs and stands to where she's putting them now.
there is, hmmm, a sense of deja vu here. he's always getting lectured like this-- ]
Yeah, maybe that's true. Probably true. Definitely true! I don't have a lot of luck arguing with the super level-headed lecture-y types like you when it comes to stuff like this. [ mostly because he's uhhhh WRONG all the time but it doesn't mean he can't be the biggest pain in the ass ever even while acknowledging that ] But it's not like the whole club's left the room, which means I've still got a chance to do that.
[ no ]
How about it? If this is a should that I've gotta do for you, then I'll return that favor. I'll play along if you play along!
[ nnnnOOOOOOOOO
why doesn't he just ask her to play piano like a normal person. why doesn't he just ask to get to know her like a normal person. ]
no subject
Do I need to be here?
[ She asks, but she's already moving away from the chair and the stands to approach the piano. ]
You still haven't rewritten it yet, correct?
[ She's no composer; she wouldn't be able to help with that aspect. ]
