( on the floor is... play sand that you get from home depot play sand, komaeda bartered with a few of the natives to get him some of the good stuff so that you know.. it's playable. komaeda's missing the tools, didn't think they'd need it, but there's a few cut out ugly starfish that's been made by either him or amami, i'm not going to say who, but it has that ugly star tumblr energy.

anyway, it's messy, all over the floor, and there's a few buckets that he stole from the janitor's office, and one of the pool chairs brought out to sit beside the sand.

um... what do people even do at the beach, i never went.

there's this... pole on both side of the pool with a string connected to it which is held down by duct tape, and it's meant to be a divider, and there's a volleyball... or... well, a balloon... next to it.

idk if the natives got them a volleyball.

( (yukiko voice) snrrrk... the hand amami isn't using to hold kamo-kun's is brought up to his face to try and cover his laughter as the flashlight shines over the scene. he's allowed to laugh though. apparently he was in on this, so he thinks he deserves that. anyway! it's the thought that counts, he really does believe that, and he smiles bright )

Wow, getting the sand here really is impressive though.

( you think that's enough to make a sand castle with? amami will try to gently lead them further in, closer to the water but not quite right up to it. )

It's nice out tonight, too. Thought we'd be able to see the moon though.

( too bad, would have lit this place up a little better — reflecting light on the surface of the water. )

[ People normally go to the beach when it's sunny!!! I say as I only ever go at night so I can walk to the end of the pier and stare out into the ocean and then go home. But in npc-kun's mind, it's a daytime thing, it's a noisy, crowded thing, sometimes there's sharks in the water— they saw this in a movie once.

They let Amami lead them closer, peering out across the water. How high above the surface is the string... would they be able to reach it like a lifeline if they need to...

Yep, it's all Amami-kun's doing, he told me to stay out when going through all the trouble.

( komaeda could take the credit for side working, but he doesn't want it, just like he doesn't want to be here to ruin anything, but can't have everything you want. instead, he closes his eyes, trying his best to free himself from npc-kun's hold so that he can turn around, focusing on the sand.

he wants to play in it, make sure the texture is good and sand-y — it slips through his hands like a waterfall, smooth and cold from the inside of the pool. the water hits against the side of the pool, soft sounds echoing through place with their voices, and their laughter. he pushes his hands into the substance, and it molds around his fingers with two hand prints. )

...It's nice.

( is this what they're doing now... playing in the sand? amami will plop himself down on the ground close by, so that kamo-kun is within arm's reach of both of them (if they even let go of komaeda in the first place). it's not the beach if you don't get sand in all your clothes. when the attention turns back to him though, amami shakes his head and sighs, looking pretty tired with the attempt to redirect things. )

C'mon Komaeda-kun, it's no good if you don't take credit for your hard work.
