Not at all. Some people are beginning to start collections, I've heard. They might be delighted.

[ The incredulity in their voice suggests more "why the fuck" than "wow, that's great" but they're not going to question people's bad spending habits. Maybe they can hang out in the dorms... it can be for business. ]

I guess I could take a business trip sometime...

[ People get paid to go on business trips, so it counts as work. And good relationships— doesn't have to be friendship— can go a long way to encourage repeat customers and attract new ones. ]

During the day. I have to be back here before night.

Why before night? No one would mind you staying later.

[is there some level of shyness they have? it'll be alright - she has a concept of them perhaps staying to dinner, and then not feeling lonely, and slowly opening up. it'll be fantastic, and this is unrealistically optimistic of her.]

[ Maybe they'd stay for dinner, and maybe they'll forget about loneliness, but what they know for a fact is that it'll be hard to enjoy anything with that fear in the back of their mind once the sun goes down. Of having to walk back alone, in the dark. ]

I go to bed early so I can be awake early, so...

[ The sun sets at like 7:30? that's a reasonable bedtime hour ]

Then we'll keep that in mind, and adjust our schedule accordingly. Though if it gets too late, and you get tired, I'm sure someone has a spare bed.

or just childish, trying to think of reasons not to do something that Helena is able to find a solution to all their worries, and can't know 100% why they're so nervous about all of this. Being away from the one place they feel safe, being around a bunch of strangers, being a... a guest, a visitor, a friend... There's no guideline for how to behave, unlike the shopkeeper role. ]

...What do you guys do in the dorms? Play with rocks?

[ ?? what do you even do with so many rocks ]

Some people might. I read, or ask people questions about many things, or I write. Everyone has a way of making their own fun - even if some of it I don't understand at all. Like Natsume saying he's trying to hex someone...I'm not quite sure what that's about.

[she shrugs, but chuckles - whatever makes someone happy.]

Anyway, I don't wish to force you, but I hope you can consider it, and decide for yourself. The door will always be open to you, you know.

[ They're quiet, aside from a nervous little feet shuffle, because Amami had also suggested reading a book and taking a break once in a while, and there is something they need to finish writing, but all of that... They can and do do in the comfort of their room, late at night under the glow of their suncatchers. ]

Okay...

[ The shuffling stops. ]

Will you sit with me if I go?

[ They barely know anybody............ if they go and Helena's in her room and nobody they know is in the public spaces they're going to turn right back around and leave and never come back ]

Of course! It would be my pleasure.

[she says it with certainty, from her heart. if they want to make this step, then she'll do what she can to have them feel as welcome as she's declared they'll be. and by all odds, there'll be someone else they know as well.]

...I don't think I ever properly introduced myself to you, though. I'm Helena Adams, and it's nice to meet you.

[that'll be easier than going "hey you", right?]

[ There's a little puff of breath, a sigh of relief that gets released when Helena agrees to it, and then that initial cheer and energy is back in their voice full force. ]

Thanks, Helena! I'm going to hold you to it, so you'd better be there!

[ ...There's no offer of their name. ]

[she won't force it. their acceptance of coming was good enough for her, and if they have to be a mystery for now - well, they can start with food, and see where they end up.

she's patient, when she needs to be.]

If you don't tell me what day you decide to come, I'll end up spending every evening in the common room waiting for you. You've made a promise - let's each hold up our end of it!

Hmm... Then, come see me every day! And you might as well buy something while you're at it! And then, if I feel like going, I'll be able to tell you and you don't have to wait for me.

[ Which they'd feel really bad about, because they know all about waiting for somebody who never shows. ]

[decrypter]

I can't promise to buy something every day - that'd be a difficult one to keep. But I can promise to come see you every day. That's my counter offer.

[given that she disappeared for a week earlier, she'll have to think of a backup plan. maybe someone she trusts can be sent to deliver a message should she end up vanishing again, to let them know that she wasn't gone by choice. she can work it into the roommate agreement she has...one that they'll have to end up writing down at this rate...]

[ They purse their lips and hum like they're thinking, but they smile anyways, because people seeing them every day, filling in the space and the silence, is more than they could hope for. ]

[she!! means it. this means they're going to have a daily visitor, esp after classes let out, to chat and such. sometimes she'll buy a little something but mostly it's for them and them alone...that's just how it is now.

no pressure on coming to the dorms, npckun. she'll come and see you regardless.]
