That's TRUE, so it's often more how she acts and what she doesn't do that surprises ME.
( let him count the ways....... )
She's dropped books on my feet beFORE, but she hasn't seriously hurt me otherwise—not even before she became the Student Council PresiDENT. She answers my questions no matter how inane she might find THEM, and she indulges me in conversation unless I greviously offend her in some WAY. That's only happened ONCE, and I apoloGIZED... We made UP.
( That's a little distracted, because did they? Well. Probably about as much as they're going to make up, being who they are. He's sincere in his apologies, but it's really not his place to decide if he's worth forgiving... but she did have lunch with him so it's okay. )
She complains plenty about me wasting her TIME, but she's still had lunch with me and made a promise to have another picnic sometime on the roofTOP, as long as she's allowed to shove me off the building after we're finished eatING. ( He doesn't think she'll really-really do it, because the rooftop is a good place for her, and wouldn't a murder just put a bad taste in her mouth? Or maybe she'll surprise him again and actually do it. Can't be worse than Komaeda, anyway. Natsume lowers his hand, expression still slightly pinched. )
She makes a face when I call her Little Wolf, but offers no complaint otherWISE... though she tends to make a face when she sees I'm interested in talking to her in geneRAL, so I don't think there's any real correlaTION. She's told me her favorite food even though there's no value in sharing that type of information and even asked mine in reTURN, and she wore one of the perfumes I gave HER, thouhgh she wouldn't say if she liked it or NOT. She could've just tried it out and it hadn't faded or gotten rubbed off by the time she came to SCHOOL...
Well— ( sigh ) I have a tendency to overthink THINGS, ( which is obvious but he'll say it anyway, fully aware of his own faults and only sometimes trying to fix them, ) so I've also considered the possibility I'm just thinking too much about THIS.
( ...About her. )

Oh boy. She tries to fix her expression to something more neutral as she listen to him talk (and talk and talk), but for all he says, Maya sounds like a very normal person— somebody who gets annoyed but doesn't wish real harm upon somebody else, is patient enough to answer questions but will walk away if it's not worth the trouble, reciprocates questions because that's just how conversations work even if it's about something mundane like food preference, tries on perfume because that's what you do when you receive one as a gift...
All normal things. ]
Huh. I'm surprised, alright.
[ Maybe not about Maya, but. Anyways. ]

...What's that look FOR.

[ It's no big deal. It's fine. ]
If she spends time with you in any capacity, don't you already get along well enough with her?
no subject
It's not the first or last time he's going to hear the sentiment of "if she talks to you, you're probably fine" about Maya, but it never really feels that way. )
But I'd like to know more about HER. ( He could pass it off just as his regular information gathering thing, but it isn't. Well, it mostly isn't; knowing more about the students here that do stick out in their minds, whether they're their "fellow transfers" or not, might be key to answering the questions that lurk in the back of his mind: what makes them different, what it really means to be awake, what's the true purpose of this school, what is wrong with this place— ) Isn't it natural for a boy to want to get closer to the girl he LIKES?
( ...just...kidding? )

Sure, but aren't you better off learning those things from the person themselves? Not that Maya would talk about herself, but there's plenty you can learn just by watching.
[ We're going back to the stalker idea. It's a good idea, she swears. ]

So we're back to the stalking iDEA. ( ugh ) I'm almost positive she's going to like that as much as she likes talking to ME.
no subject
Yeah, but this one she doesn't have to know.
[ A good stalker never gets found out. ]

...I see your POINT. ( At least half of it. haha slaps knee this was a great sacrifice. ori about to be free from natsume-maya conversations but only because they're replaced with threads of him following her around i guess ) I guess I'll give it a TRY.
( :/ well... won't be any different from when he just followed people around to collect data on their habits in first year he guesses. )
Thank you for the adVICE, Sato-chan. I'll be sure to leave your name out of it if she catches me and asks what my problem IS.

She does laugh a little when he begrudgingly accepts, quiet and under her breath even if it's not reflected in my icons "I don't need this smiling icon, Nao will never smile" ]
You'd better not. [ unsaid: or Else ] Do your best.
