9/4 hirokun
Good afterNOON, Hiro-kun. This is for YOU. ( friendship... ) Did you enjoy your time away from SCHOOL?
no subject
Sips.
Shrugs his shoulders. Seems to think about it more. Then nods his head. ]
no subject
I'm glad to hear THAT, though I wish I could say the SAME... I went on a trip with some schoolMATES, and we got chased by a BEAR. How did you spend IT?
no subject
But never mind him. He points at Natsume, then lifts hands in that rawr pose.
? ]
no subject
It's a long stoRY, but one of our members decided to try and feed its CUB... Naturally, the mother bear didn't like THAT. Afterwards, we found a cliff and I was shoved off of it by Komaeda-san, and I almost drowned in the river beLOW.
( it was ♡ terrible ♡ )
But in brighter NEWS, I've been learning from my master how to cast maGIC... Would you like to SEE?
no subject
but not enough that he doesn't look up with interest at being able to see more magic. Candy appearing out of thin air, please... ]
no subject
It doesn't always WORK, since I'm not as inclined to Master's type of magic as my own, but...
( He'll concentrate, hands cupped in front of him; he quietly asks the magic to come forth, less frenzied than when he was in the woods and more like his usual lessons with Clamor.
Nothing happens, and he looks both a little exasperated and embarrassed. Ugh— yes he warned Hiro but still. )
SorRY.
no subject
He looks up when Natsume apologizes, and shakes his head a little. Reaching forward, he cups his hands under Natsume's and lifts them half a centimeter before pulling away and doing a little fistpump by his side.
It's okay. Just try it again. You can do it. ]
no subject
Hiro: (is like this) )
You're going to be disappoinTED. ( A friendly warning because he knows exactly what Hiro is expecting and he isn't getting it. Not yet, he'll ask Clamor how to summon candy next lesson.
But he'll focus again, and the tips of his fingers glow slightly; it's difficult to see given the school's lighting, and Natsume moves closer so their bodies make an adequate amount of shadow.
The Sagittarius constellation appears first, then Aquarius. They fizzle out after a few moments, but his hands stay lit and a little warm. )
...I'm currently learning celestial maGIC. Due to my affinity for divinaTION, Master thought I'd be suited for IT... It's a difficult craft THOUGH. I can heal with it TOO, as the moon is often called upon for such duTIES. ( ... ) I always imagined I'd be throwing fireBALLS, but this isn't bad eiTHER.
no subject
Huddled close to Natsume, Hiro stares intently at his hands once more, eyes widening when he sees Natsume's fingertips glow, and even more when the little sparks of light start to appear. He doesn't recognize the constellations for what they are, but seeing the orbs of light is more than enough.
...Oh, that's right. He'll stop gaping and look back up at Natsume, softly clapping his hands together twice, in applause. ]
no subject
When I get good enough to TEACH, I'll pass on the knowledge to you TOO. The stars can keep you company when you're aLONE... They're always watching over you, after ALL.
no subject
getting to learn it, though... He looks both hopeful and doubtful— not of Natsume's abilities but his own. He holds up two fingers though, does a little scissoring motion.
He's never alone. ]
no subject
...If you mean your sisTER, you two are going to grow up and have your own lives eventually, you KNOW. It's a part of LIFE.
( they'll still be close, they'll still be family, but it's natural for siblings to have their own lives one day. )
no subject
But... yeah, he knows he and Maya aren't always going to be together, that she has her sights on bigger and better things while he's always been content with what he's got. Eventually, he'll be left behind. It wouldn't be fair to expect Maya to take care of him forever.
He's still ): at Natsume about it, though. Just quietly distressed at the thought of the future. ]
no subject
It isn't like Natsume doesn't get it. He's an only child, so it's a little different... and the fact they have a parent company to their agency makes it easier, but... he still has people he can't see as often, and it sucks. Even within his own unit. He bumps their heads together lightly, the briefest of touches—you could almost fool yourself into thinking he hadn't done anything at all. )
Does talking about what's to come distress you that MUCH? ...Well, I guess it does most peoPLE. ( not him, he's... never mind, it does distress him too, seeing as he's the one who's been so stubbornly clinging onto the past. the one who still is. ) Then let's talk about the past inSTEAD. Have you always been the quiet ONE?
no subject
Hiro looks up at Natsume, and while he doesn't shake or nod his head, the misery in his expression is telling enough. It'd be nice to just be in high school forever, coast through life until you're suddenly an adult and don't know what to do with yourself.
The past is better to think about, but that comes with its own share of distress. Maya can be just as quiet as him, but even compared to her, he's even more so, he knows this. So he shakes his head, but not before lowering his gaze to the ground. ]
no subject
He can't imagine Hiro not being quiet, so he's going to assume that means he doesn't want to talk about the past. Or maybe he means that Maya's been quiet too, which isn't that surprising. )
She told me you only have each other NOW, so I assume you don't have any other sibLINGS... When did you lose your paRENTS?
no subject
Hiro holds up ten fingers, then flashes another three. Not all that long ago, all things considered, but being mature enough to handle it also comes with that pain and sorrow still being raw, not like a child's memory that's easily forgotten. ]
no subject
Age thirteen? That... really isn't that long ago; he imagines it must still be a sore spot. )
My condolenCES. ( The proper thing to offer, though he's sure Hiro's heard it dozens of times before. It isn't his place to ask how it happened either, but Hiro probably knows he's curious—most people are—Natsume will keep the question to himself though. ) Did you love THEM?
no subject
Hiro's not about to pantomime his parents' potentially horrific death, so he settles for answering the question anymore, casting his eyes to the floor, nodding his head. ]
no subject
That's good; children with good parents often love them, so at least they probably had a happy life up to that point. Probably. )
What's your favorite childhood memoRY? With them or otherWISE.
( ... )
Mine is one of my earliest—the first time my mommy let me attend one of her SHOWS. She's a world-famous fortuneteller, you SEE. I was sitting in the WINGS, watching her talk to people and help ease their troubled MINDS... Bringing smiles to their faCES. ( Natsume smiles slightly too, curling his fingers back into his palms. ) It was then that I decided I wanted to be just like HER. I wanted to help peoPLE, learn how to pick up on the most minute of cues and solve their proBLEMS... To rescue them from what ailed THEM.
( A very genuine, gentle sentiment. Did that get a little lost along the way, growing up? Maybe, but he found it again eventually and became a magician instead; it all worked out. )
She was... is an amazing woMAN. Daddy's lucky she married HIM, despite the fact he's a sleazy megalomaniAC.
no subject
He has to think on his favorite memory— it's hard to come up with anything, as opposed to having too much to choose from, but it isn't as if he thinks so much about the past that it's all fresh in his mind. He's distracted anyways, when Natsume starts talking, trying to imagine a fortune telling show... he's imagining one of those small stadiums that's a concrete stage and two bleachers in front of it...
If only everybody's problems could be magicked away, just like that.
It's a sentiment that gets a small smile out of him, at any rate, one that almost looks like he wants to laugh when Natsume brings up his dad. And then sad as he thinks about his own dad...
He takes a step back and holds his palms down flat in front of him before sweeping his hands to either side, bends his knees just enough to suggest sitting before straightening up again, and then holds one hand with the palm face up and mimes eating.
Family picnics. ]
no subject
Picnics, RIGHT? ( ... ) We were always moving around due to my parents' WORK, so we didn't really do that type of THING. We'd go out to eat and have dinner with celebrities and the LIKE, whoever my mommy wanted to see at the TIME, but it probably isn't the SAME.
( Actually—he's lost a lot of his childhood to his parents' jobs, technically speaking, but he brushes past that. No need to dwell. )
Have you two been out on one since THEN?
no subject
Celebrities, though... wow. This paints a clearer picture of why he is how he is; rich and influential people simply live in an entirely different world.
But no, he shakes his head at having been out on a picnic since then, and gestures openly to the school in general. ]
no subject
Not since then and definitely not since entering SCHOOL? ( ... ) You're still just a second YEAR, Hiro-kun. You're allowed to have a little freedom and to do as you LIKE.
( so he and maya should go on a family picnic. maybe take nao. )
It's not like us th... ( uh ) The third years, raTHER.
