The auditorium is the closet thing and she knows that most people are leaving by this hour. Even if there are people inside she wont stop at the middle of it and continue going on until they reach the stage where she will pause between the awkward silence and look over toward him. ]
This way, behind the curtain.
[ This is where you die akira.
im jk. ]

or at least he looks faint, face red and suddenly mute as he lets Nanami pull him along behind the curtain, trying not to feel so self-conscience about holding hands but it's a losing battle from the start. ]
no subject
Except thats not what happens, instead she led him behind the curtain. Sat herself down on the floor patting the place next to her. ]
... Ne, ne are you thinking perverted thoughts Akira-san?
[ Nanami replies teasing him, but her voice is so flat. So unenthusiastic. It's dark but, the glimmer of the lights bouncing beneath the curtains give them enough view of one another he can see how her expression is rather empty and doe-eyed... Yet content all the same. ]
... Just kidding... Sit down.
no subject
[ She should've just killed him and spared him the grief.
He sits down a little aways from her so that they're arms are at length, and he gives his fingers an experimental wiggle, as if asking if it's time to let go now. ]
no subject
[ Nanami tugs on him slightly, patting her lap now. ]
no subject
[ HE'S TRYING VERY HARD NOT TO ]
no subject
[ Nanami cants her head. She lets go of his hand and gently pats her lap again. ]
Lay here, and then look away.
no subject
[ He ducks his head and looks away, but he can't just lie down? On her lap??? He would absolutely expire, there's no way, can't do it. ]
no subject
[ Nanami places both her hands neatly on her lap them. She looks at him expectantly, with her head canting slightly. ]
no subject
...
It's in the wrong order, but he squeezes his eyes shut tight and then lays down... on the very tip of Nanami's knees... maybe he missed, maybe this was on purpose ]
no subject
So when he settles her hands raise to either side of his head, gently coming closer to cover over his ears. Her thumbs nimbly run circles into the locks of his black hair before her fingers run down on either side of him. Eventually she pulls him up slightly, with a gentle amount of pressure. Tucking her knees in closer so he could lay properly on her lap.
From above she looks down at him and then says. ]
... Ne, ne, are you comfortable?
no subject
...no... I... This is more terrifying than talking about the laptop, actually.
[ is that what she was going for???? can't be scared of a laptop if he can withstand this, but the problem is, he doesn't think he can. ]
no subject
[ She made a joke, she looks at him with a tiny but sharp smile. As if waiting for him to laugh. She pokes his nose. ]
no subject
[ It takes a moment for the joke to register, but it gets startled out of him anyways when she pokes his nose and his eyes fly open in surprise, all the fear and nerves washed away. ]
no subject
It takes a little bit, before she speaks again. Allowing for the silence of the air to settle between them. The off sound of people bustling about in the distance filters past the curtains like white noise but no one knows they are there. Her voice is quite, but earnest, ]
Are you ready for the exams...?
no subject
...Yeah. The material isn't hard for the first semester, and I've reviewed it plenty of times, so I feel ready. What about you?

[ Cram as hard as you can then pass out for two days once summer break arrives, that's what students do ]
History is a lot of names and numbers, but historically accurate games surprisingly help... [ Historically accurate is sometimes up in the air, though ]
no subject
[ Nanami says pausing with a bit of charitable thought trying to remember why she failed her last practice test or w.e japanese kids take. ]
.... I thought so too but apparently Date Masamune doesn't say 'Put your Guns on' in actual history....
[ That game hasn't come out yet in the 90s. ]

The fundraiser is in less than a week, isn't it...?
[ Is she going to be okay? ]
no subject
[ Nanami thinks upon the revelation completely aware of her follies in this moment. ]
... Maybe I can still make it foreveryone for fun still and extra money for something else one day?
[ Nanami cants her head looking back down towards him. ]
no subject
[ Nanami-san are you going to be okay!!! ]
...That's probably a better idea, so you don't burn yourself out. The school is always in need of money, and there always seems to be repairs going on. They're still working on the field, and the pool's been closed since last year... something about the water...
[ He looks back at Nanami ]
Are you having fun, though? Making a game is so much different from playing one. It makes me appreciate them a lot more.
no subject
Oh..? You can tell me more about that later. [ Because frankly she didn't wanna spend this time talking about the school... Just about him and her, enjoying this moment together. Relaxing away from troubles but also maybe talking about them. ] I am... That's why I want to make one for everyone...
Games are how I learned a lot about the world around me in a lot of ways, I know it sounds silly but... I want to make a game that can help remind everyone why its important to work together and not turn on each other in the end.
.. Do you wanna help me?
no subject
It's... the same for me. Learning about the world through games...
[ He'd like to think it's a universal experience, but so many people here... There are so many different personalities, different experiences, different lives he couldn't begin to fathom, and for a student whose entire life is school, it sure makes him feel small. ]
I don't know much about the world, but I know it's important to work together. If it's a theme like that at its core, how could I turn you down?
