Oh. Um.

[ He spares the clock on the wall a quick glance, not that he'd need to with class having just ended and most people still packing their things to go to club or otherwise leave for the day, neither of which Akira has plans to do. ]

[He gives it a moment or two, at least for the students closest to them to file out of the room or near its exit. He isn't really sure what kind of conversation this going to be, so...]

I know this is probably a little sudden, but... That time Amami came into our classroom really suddenly... Was everything alright with him?

[It's a little direct, probably, but it wouldn't be like Hinata to be otherwise.]

With Amami-san? Yes, I think so...

[ But he trails off, because even if everything seemed alright with him, he can't say anything about the aftermath, what Amami might have thought or felt— other than fear and disgust, maybe. Akki doesn't know. Other people are hard, and he can't presume, but, ]

He wasn't hurt or anything, physically. Is he okay? Does he seem off to you? I didn't realize— I don't know him that well, so I didn't think...

[Hinata shakes his head, biting his lip a little. He's worried, but if Akira says he's okay, then maybe...

He should still check, though.]

I haven't seen him since then. We share club together, but I... don't go there very often these days. [His eyes only dart away for a second, and Hinata feels just a little proud of himself. He's getting better, he thinks.] It doesn't seem like him, though, to be so...

[Panicked.]

...desperate. [It seems like a safe enough word to settle on.] If he isn't hurt that's good, it just... had me worried.

[ Desperate is the word. When Akki had heard his name being yelled like that, his first thought was who was dying? and then he saw who was dying and that sort of desperation was valid. What happened isn't really his story to tell, though, least of all his part in it that he wants to pretend never happened, but he can at least assuage Hinata's worries. ]

He wasn't hurt. It was... a... mutual friend...? [ kind of falls apart at that, because he doesn't think Rokkun has friends, doesn't really consider himself friends, doesn't know his relationship with Amami. He should have left it at classmate, really, but then it doesn't excuse the desperation. ]

To be honest, I don't know why he called for me specifically, either. I'm glad I could help as much as I could, but... [ he shakes his head ] I'm sure he'd appreciate you checking up on him. Since you're... friends. [ clubmates? friends. This is a very difficult word to apply. ]

A mutual friend? [Hinata's eyes go wide, and for a moment, guilt stabs through him; he should've gone to the meeting, just to make sure everyone was alright.] You don't happen to know if it was a member of the survival club, do you?

[If it were Saihara... If it were Ouma or Kawai...

Hinata doesn't want to think about if it was Komaeda, but his brain is pretty bad about giving him the things that he wants.]

I haven't known Amami that long, but... He's a good person, and I think of him as a friend now. I'm sure both of you did your best. [He manages a smile, even if it's one fringed with worry.] So thank you, Fujioka, for helping him out.

Oh... I don't know who's in that club, to be honest. [ That club doesn't really stand out, on the account of being a fake club with members who are bad at surviving ]

It was Ro- ...Arata-san, from 3-A, who got hurt but... He got through the worst, and will be okay, I think. [ He manages a thin smile but it drops just as quickly, never lingering long on his face. ]

They're all good people, so it makes me happy to be able to have helped. You too, Hinata-san, if I can ever help you with anything...

[All of the Survival Club members, sneezing somewhere as they are roasted in the small text.]

Well, I'm one of them. [Hinata laughs a little sheepishly.] We don't get our name out there very often, though, so that isn't too surprising...

[The name isn't familiar, but... He wonders if it's too forward to introduce himself, or if that'd feel too much like a dad checking in with his kids' friends or a mom or a video game protagonist doing self-introductions with all of the characters.]

Arata, huh... I don't think I know him, but if he's okay, that's what matters most.

[Hinata never really strays outside of his own classroom, but... Maybe he should stop by anyway, one of these days.]

You're a good person too, you know, if you went through all that trouble. [His smile gets a little sad, here.] Seems like I have nothing but problems these days... But it's not like I need to dump all that on you.

[Not like he even can, because it's not like Hinata can bother trying to tell anyone that he and the others are trapped in here... And Hinata's got plenty more issues than that, now.]

I'll keep it in mind, though. If there's ever anything I can do for you, too... Let me know, okay?

[ Oh. It's a good thing he didn't speak that small text out loud, but he still looks a little guilty for thinking it without realizing Hinata is one of the club's members. ]

Arata-san is... uh... [ a good person, BUT... ] Yeah. He'll be okay.

[ So there's no need to check up on him or get involved with him in any way that it'd be Akki's fault for sending them him way. ]

We'll all be okay... is what I like to think. Everybody has their share of problems, some more than others... But there's always people who'll help. So we'll be okay.

[ Probably. ]
