I know. I'll be there for her physically, but I'm not... the best with words, or know what to say to comfort people. I can't relate all that well.

[ Can't be betrayed by friends if he doesn't have friends! Can't feel remorse for hurting people if he plots murder all the time anyways! that sort of thing ]

It doesn't sound like it's for lack of trying.

( which is... kind of what matters here. even though amami doesn't have a full picture, is still trying to get a sense for the type of person rokkun is, the fact is that he seems like someone rika places a lot of trust in. he knows that he isn't really the most suited to this himself either, so... there's a pause, and he glances away for a moment, breathing out a deep exhale before speaking up again. )

While you were away, one of her classmates died. ( in case rokkun hasn't figured that out yet. )

Even if it's not to comfort her, I'm sure she'd appreciate some company... during lunch and things like that.

[ He knows. Word travels like a clap of thunder, and goes silent just as quickly. But he remembers. Chiaki was his friend too, a member of his club, they were... involved. but not like that. ]

She has other friends— you, Nagito, ... [ ... who else ... ] Would we be eating together?

he seems to hesitate for a moment, expression apologetic. )

Komaeda-kun isn't doing great either, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you invited company.

( as for amami, he's shirking this off on rokkun on purpose to be honest, so... )

N...o. The last time the three of us ate together, it got weird.

[ He doesn't want to sit in the same room as the two of them, actually. He'll just have to take them out one at a time. ]

( well. amami doesn't know how he feels about that. )

I was thinking of Fujioka-kun, maybe. Komaeda-kun hasn't been leaving the library very much lately.

[ Akira's on thin ice right now, so

Rokkun pushes himself off his seat. He's going to go see Komaeda, this is what he got out of this conversation. ]

Ah — hold on a second.

( amami's going to reach out, not actually touching him but like, wait up, you know? looking pretty sheepish, give him a second and he'll grab the jacket piled up on the desk behind him (and yes i think it does have mushrooms or something growing inside it if he unfolds it,) so that he can hold it out to rokkun. )

Komaeda-kun wanted me to give this to you, for the rock we mentioned before. I don't mind waiting, but I don't really want to carry it around with me either.

( at least??? take it with you? it might be important... )

He takes his jacket, hugging the bundle to his chest, but he doesn't move. ]

He seemed reluctant to let it go.

( did not expect rokkun to take it quite this hard, though. )

[ Hello?? Rantarou?????? Do you value your life?????????? ]

( ...

I'm sure you'll hear it from him.

( can he go talk to one of them, at least... )

I won't get a straight answer out of him.

[ He never does. ]

If you won't tell me, then... tell me why you won't tell me. That's my— We promised.

( it adds up, kind of... there's a pause, and amami sighs. )

It's like I said — he gave it to me to return to you. When I agreed, it didn't seem like he wanted to let go...

( in the end, though, he did. )

He only started acting like this after what happened, so I figured you'd be the only one who could help it.

( maybe rokkun understands him a little better than amami does? though, seems like that was a bit much to hope for. )

[ It doesn't make sense, to give somebody something you don't want to let go— to give it to somebody else instead of returning it yourself. The fact that Amami agreed makes his blood boil a little. Thinking about Komaeda makes his blood boil. Maybe by the time he drags himself down to the library, he'll calm down a little, but for now, in this moment, he'll let murderous rage fill him as he pushes himself up from his desk and leaves the room.
