Before she does, she's going to try and sift through her pre-awakening memories of Yogen. Does she have any idea what this faculty member even does, or what she's like? She hasn't even given her official position, so Ritsuka is suspicious.

She does not! None of the other students, pc or npc, will have ever seen her in the school either, but the woman walks into the school like she belongs here and she's familiar enough with the students to know them by face and name and the assistant principal clearly defers to her, so ???

In Ritsuka's experience, there's good shifty and bad shifty. It's a hard line to draw, but after hanging around people like Moriarty and Dantes vs. Kadoc and the rest of the Crypters, she's become an expert at finding it.

And this woman, whoever she is, is clearly bad shifty.

"...Ma'am, before I'm comfortable telling you that information, I need to know who you are. Being wary of strangers is good student conduct, after all."

After she gets some help finding books on historical blacksmithing, Ritsuka will slide the librarian a note thanking her and asking her where to send gifts, since Ritsuka wants to make a treat for her for all of her hard work but food obviously isn't allowed in the library.

The librarian gives her a look like ??? and pulls a pen out of her breast pocket to write below Ritsuka's note: "The best way to give somebody a gift is in person. If that isn't possible, and if it will fit and not be too messy upon being dropped a short distance, insert it into their locker."

Who needs instructions on how to send gifts to your friends????? weird girl.

To you, she clarifies via note. As thanks. Because you work so hard and deal with so many students trying to make trouble.

Ritsuka knows the best way to deal with oblivious people is to be as direct as possible.

The woman heaves the sort of sigh that suggests Ritsuka is testing her patience, of which she has little to none to begin with, and says that she is the superintendent of the school and is here on an emergency and temporary basis due to the principal being unavailable and the assistant principal knowing shit all of how to take over the principal's job. Not in those exact words.

Now, will she give names?

She doesn't look entirely put off by the idea of a gift but also doesn't look too keen on it. Mostly it's an "uh" sort of look. She writes back that a gift is not necessary, and the best gift Ritsuka can provide is to keep herself and her classmates out of trouble. The best gift is less work for her, thanks!!

Yep! They're there at the same time and the desks are near each other. Ritsuka will be able to hear parts of their conversation too if she wishes.

Nene is an extremely honest girl, and judging by the sound of her crying, she's probably spilling most, if not all of the beans, to the vice principal.

No point in hiding it, then.

"All of the transfer students, ma'am. We were stuck here over break and couldn't get out."

Ritsuka stares the superintendent in the eye, unflinching.

Ritsuka gives a single nod, waves, and heads off.

The superintendent stares back, also unflinching. She asks stuck how, and if she's supposed to believe that the front door is discriminatory against transfer students. Doors aren't any different from one place to another, Miss Ritsuka. Did she perhaps pull instead of push?

Pull, push, nothing. She knows that somebody tried to get open one of the windows and it still didn't work.

Whether or not she believes it isn't any of Ritsuka's business, because that won't change the truth.

The truth smells like a lie when all the superintendent has to go off of are words ///: She asks if Ritsuka cares to provide any more substantial proof, and if not, she is free to go.

Ritsuka looks like she's about to mention something (literally showing the doors), realizes that it'll be impossible to actually demonstrate convincingly, then declines and walks out.

Komaeda and Naegi approach the black cat with lasers!! And shine it around to get the kitty's attention. Naegi will even go pspspspsps so there's even more of a reason for his eye to be clawed out :')

Yes! Komaeda has one and also his cat treats in his pocket just in case he needs Lily May to purrtect them!! But he's going to stand behind Naegi because... he's hope.. you can't just STAND beside or infront of hope so he's watching with a warm smile!! :) You know the smile, the freak one where he just :). Komaeda's going to call himself trash, he never new that Super High School Level Hope could be such a cute cat whisperer, anyway, he's waving the light over Naegi's shoulder...

Izumi and Natsume are going after the black cat first :') They have brought offerings of... some homemade cat food they made after school in the HomeEc Room. Pspspsps. They'll probably put it down on the floor on a plate once they spot little kuroneko-san and wait to see if it'll come closer...

...Izumi has his little horse toy on him though. Food vs horse who will win.

I'm going to say that this is this is in front of the body case so Naegi can get his eye clawed out in front of a dead girl and god and everybody. The black cat doesn't initially move from its perch on top of the case, laying down with its front paws dangling over the front edge and its tail seen swishing back and forth behind it. It seems to be watching the light... you know what would be funny... if Komaeda shines the light at the glass and it reflects back into Naegi's eye.

They find the black cat in the locker area walking down one of the rows of lockers before it spots the two of them and freezes in place. As long as they don't make any sudden movements or reaches for it, it doesn't run— but the way it's tensed suggests that it will at any given moment. Rather than peering down at the food on the floor, the cat stares at Izumi. Horse hate is winning out... Compared to the white cat, this one doesn't seem as motivated by food.

Because they're classmates and speaking to a classmate seems to be a good, easy way to gather information especially from a third year, she's going to attempt and ask if he knows anyone by the last name of 'Arisu' in the school - either from this year or the previous years!

He looks slightly confused, only because shouldn't she know too? But he says that it's understandable since they don't really stand out that much, and they're in the grade below them: twins, Maya and Hiro Arisu.

She apologizes, laughing a little awkwardly before stating that she's bad with names, especially with those that aren't in her year, especially given that she's a transfer student, she's still learning... and will subsequently ask what they look like, since she's only heard their names from word of mouth.

hey, izumi is not being sus...... is he? he does a little staredown at the cat for a hot second before he starts checking himself over, and pulls out the cute little horse toy from his person. is this what it wants? what if izumi puts it down on the ground like a peace offering of sorts, like so?
