[ It's not as apparent...? Outside his circle? The way Maya phrases that gives Shuichi pause, to the point he shrinks back from the flinch he'd initially given, a normal reaction as she calls out the body in the display for what it is. Not a doll. Or actually... she didn't even call it a body. He's thought about that himself -- he'd have more to say on the matter had this happened before. But right now, there's only the cold shiver he feels down his spine as he freezes in place, and the all-too-familiar sting of doubt in his head.

[ He sure is there, making his rounds watering the plants around the courtyard, and turns to the window when he hears the knocking though he does not smile and the half mask hides the rest of his expression. If he's surprised, it's hard to tell with the way his eyes can't be seen, but he does stare at Nene for a long moment.

Without setting down the watering can, he lifts his hand, can and all, and points at Nene. And then he flicks his finger to the side, as if telling her to go away. It's late!! Go to bed. ]

[ Why should she know anything about them? How much are you supposed to know about other people in your grade, honestly... ]

If you've been a detective for years, I won't know unless you advertise that fact around the school and offer your services, but why would you? I would suggest against it, actually. The more nosy you are, the larger target you'll become. Who here knows you're a detective?

[ He was always here, y'all are just blind. He glances over his shoulder at the plants in question, the tree at the center of the courtyard and rows of bushes lining the edges that are peppered with flowers. They don't look carefully cultivated or especially manicured or anything, but he never misses one when he makes his rounds watering. ]

It is not so much work that it requires more than one person. This is my job.

( not especially planned out, but natural growth is just as lovely to her- and, well, it's been a bit since she's gotten to even consider gardening! ... she may have second-guessed her idea about a gardening club to be honest, considering they can't go outside unless with a teacher. and even that's a new development. )

I really couldn't ask for anything more, ( he's impressed with how much izumi was able to gain, though, and that deserves praise in itself. with that, he claps his hands once and then twice to show his enthusiasm. ) it'll be amazing to see how this information fares with the group.
