...Yeah. I found the river near home by wandering around like that. And I found a bear's den once. I left the last cairn under a large tree so I would know not to go any further than that.

[ Terrible. He'd wanted to hear Komaeda talk, but now he's just reminiscing. ]

[ He tries to roll Komaeda off his back, using his arm as leverage, but he also doesn't want to throw Komaeda off too hard or quickly because what if he smacks his head— that would be better, rational thought says, but his conscience forbids it. ]

( he only has ONE HAND? )

( his lips purse into a straight line, rokkun can't see him because he's too busy looking at the sketch that he's thinking about touching. when all four of them were waffling around, trying to decide where to go, a cub did make their appearance. )

You were an adventurer...? ( look at him, sharing a talent with amami... ) ...How interesting, no matter, did you take food with you, too? It'd be a shame if you went hungry after running from bear cubs...

Do I have to tell him you're being mean to me...

( not that komaeda understands the full extent of what rokkun would even do, he just knows they both hang around him. so stop!! komaeda's not going to akira win this one, and he'll try to stay on, prevent himself from being thrown off like he's some raging bull or whatever. )

[ I'm sitting here like does npc-kun never give Komaeda his arm back, they wouldn't ]

I wasn't an adventurer... I was just a kid playing in his backyard.

[ And sometimes your backyard is a bear infested forest full of steep cliffs. ]

Sometimes I took snacks with me, but not always. And I was never stupid enough to get close enough to a bear cub for it to notice and chase me.

...We met a small bear cub too, I guess you were luckier than us.

[ Stoppppp Komaeda is too sick to keep Akira pinned down; he's going to at least try to roll over onto his side or back, if not get up, because he doesn't want to talk into the dirt. ]

[ npc-kun makes Komaeda buy back his own arm ]

[ Come to think of it, he hasn't seen the other three around yet. Maybe this is why. ]

( fine!!! he can get on his back, and komaeda can sit on his stomach!! thought akira was too a weak twink, and this was twink wars, but komaeda is sick...

he has to keep inching to the side to try and stay on when he moved around, difficult!!! difficult!! )

[ He's a weak twink but Komaeda is sick and that's all the advantage he needs. But also this was a mistake, because it's easier to have somebody sit on your back than on your stomach.

His arms are free to shove Komaeda away though. ]

Adams-san and Hinata-kun wanted to follow the river but... the bear chased us in the other direction... I also fed the cub, that was pretty exciting!

[ He doesn't let go of Komaeda's hand either, just sort of holds it and plays with his fingers. Is his finger still broken, what was he doing over break ]

in my mind, i expect him to have some common decency not to grab around the swollen area that's redder than his other fingers a bit, but rokkun's stupid...

[i went without lucifer's child for too long I'm here to fix it

anyway Lucifer will find Hikaru wherever they are hanging out post-break, and he has brought lunch! Specifically a homemade (like not from his home but the school kitchens, you know how it be) bento box because he was shown how to make them. This thing is probably the closest anyone can get to gourmet that's available in the immediate area, Lucifer's a very good cook okay.]

There you are. I've brought you lunch. Think of it as a "welcome back" feast. [It is indeed quite the large bento box.] I hope your time spent away was fruitful. What sorts of things did you get up to?

[ Here comes Bad Boy Akira to stand menacingly at the door after class. His eyes narrow, like he's ten seconds from walking over and beating his ass for... whatever reason... but by now he should know that that's just his face.

[ Oh, this is familiar, and not in a good way.

[ Lucifer finds them in their classroom— already up out of their seat and running towards him as soon as the door opens and they see who it is. Notably, they're wearing the hornfels necklace, and not even tucked in under their shirt; they wear it over, so they can display it proudly. ]

[ Oh that's a large bento box. They'd meant to come help Lucifer carry it, but it would be such a shame if they'd accidentally dropped it so instead they start pushing chairs in properly under the desks so Lucifer won't accidentally bump into anything. It's their desk by the window they lead him to, where it's bright and sunny and the view is trees for miles. ]

I had a good break! I slept over at a friend's house for a week, and got to go camping with another friend's family too! We saw soooo many fireflies, I wish you could've seen!

[ "You go do that," Akira does not say, because if he speaks now that would be losing. Instead, he sighs and tries again to push Komaeda off, hands on Komaeda's shoulders and it's like doing a push-up except Komaeda's the ground and push-ups were not what he excelled at in PE ]
