OW! [ LISTEN HES stupid, his own hype man. Gets kicked and grips where he got hit but hes still talking. ] Yeahhh, [ Him rolling away like a worm. ] so they came out with it. The murders, and then what happened? They got at each other throats, its the funniest thing. Are you gunna save them Steph? All of them?

[SHE'S NOT YELLING her voice is just a full octave higher than normal she's under a lot of stress right now.

but, finally, she just. breathes slowly. it's fine. she's sure he's fine.]

He likes games. He goes stupid for them— maybe you know already. But he can forget when he's playing, and he stops being scared.

[ Play with him! But, like, at a distance. Or with Rokkun hovering over one shoulder. ]

( the words are accompanied by a smile, but the fact of the matter is that he does look tired — exhausted, even. but, y'know, this ain't about him right now. )

She's had it pretty hard though... To be honest, she could probably use someone right now.

( so about all that new free time rokkun's been bragging about... )

[ Sighs... wishes he were there. But at least he gets more company in the coming days, and he can stop holding that Arisu boy hostage. ]

"Even monsters deserve to be saved"... Do you forgive them? Your friends. Would you forgive if they were not your friends? Would you forgive if they murdered two people, or three, or fifty? Would they deserve forgiveness if they murdered somebody you really cared about? Where do you draw the line? Why save somebody you can't forgive?

[ She's yelling in his general vicinity and since he's the only person here it feels like it's directed at himmmm

but then she calms down and he feels secure enough to look over too- really look at the picture and pick it up and wrap it around his knees just in case Maya walks in. Maya can never see this. It has to stay rolled up in his locker at all times and he can never use his locker again.

With that game plan in mind, he turns to Stephanie and mouths "who?" ]

I'll forgive them. I know I'll forgive them. Eventually. I can't do it right now, and maybe things will never be just like they were before, but... I will. I know I will.

[she opens them again, and looks directly at the counselor.]

But, I wouldn't need to forgive them to want them to be saved. Everyone deserves to be saved, no matter how you feel about them as a person. Heroes don't judge... And the worst person in the world wouldn't deserve this place. We're all getting out of here.

[ Look, his free time is going to be spent moping and sulking and plotting for at least two more days before he gets over himself. ]

I know. I'll be there for her physically, but I'm not... the best with words, or know what to say to comfort people. I can't relate all that well.

[ Can't be betrayed by friends if he doesn't have friends! Can't feel remorse for hurting people if he plots murder all the time anyways! that sort of thing ]

( these are for him to have, and komaeda's holding out both items as he waits for hiro to take them. he doesn't care if he'll get in trouble for this, and he's kind of excited to do this with him. he didn't think of maya's brother to be sneaky, but hell, he stabbed the fuck out of kouji so... well deserved. )

We should get out of here before Kudo-san appears... Which classroom do we hide in?

[there's... a moment where she considers not saying it. because as sharp as the disconnect she feels from Komaeda now is, he's still One Of Us. and Hiro, as much as she loves him, is still One Of Them.

... but, no. she already showed an unfair amount of distrust to Hiro. she can trust him with this.]

... Komaeda. He murdered the president before your sister. [she blinks hard, but at least she ran out of tears after yesterday.] He did it for hope.

The confusion and uncertainty only grows between "amazing" and "Kudo-san" but... okay. There's so much I want to say but unfortunately Hiro can't out loud.

What classroom, though... He goes for the science lab initially, but the door is right by the student council room so maybe not there. The next closest door is the bathroom so this is where they're going to do art. ]

( which is... kind of what matters here. even though amami doesn't have a full picture, is still trying to get a sense for the type of person rokkun is, the fact is that he seems like someone rika places a lot of trust in. he knows that he isn't really the most suited to this himself either, so... there's a pause, and he glances away for a moment, breathing out a deep exhale before speaking up again. )

Even if it's not to comfort her, I'm sure she'd appreciate some company... during lunch and things like that.

Maybe not so immediately. Hearing a name— a name he recognizes, even if it's one he doesn't associate with anything good— makes it all so real. Personal. But then unreal at the same time, because for hope? He doesn't get it, shifting the bento box away from him on the floor so he can rest his arms on his knees and bury his face in them. ]

... I made up this whole... romantic backstory in my head, or something. Where you and Maya had killed her to avenge Nao... None of it even seemed real, honestly. I didn't know her. It was like characters in a storybook.

[ He knows. Word travels like a clap of thunder, and goes silent just as quickly. But he remembers. Chiaki was his friend too, a member of his club, they were... involved. but not like that. ]

( he'll follow hiro's lead as they wander towards the bathroom, and komaeda settles his hands behind his back for peak innocence while accompanying him. he leans from side to side as he walks, looking over the other's shoulder to be annoying, and once they're inside of the bathroom — komaeda glances at the mirrors. ever since nene mentioned to him that the mirrors were different, he wonders if it's because of the reverse world now. it'd make sense, he guesses. )

Which stall do you want?

( he turns his head towards him, his brow raised, and then he chuckles as a hand lifts to dismiss his joke. )

I'm only kidding... ( he's going to take a seat on one of the sinks, and we're going to pray that the water doesn't go off because of his luck. this is practically the best seat in the house to see where hiro decides to go. )
