There's not a lot of metal, unfortunately! Most of the time, students work with wood and the metal comes in the form of nails and screws and whatever these things are called. There's a single blowtorch that isn't supposed to be used without a faculty supervising, but faculty's gone at 6PM so go wild.

There's one or two books on blacksmithing, but it's less technical and more about the history and occupation of blacksmithing. The librarian can help her find it if she asks her via note!
