[ That is an unfortunate way of putting it - oof. Nanami sees it very simply, just another program an AI needing an upgrade. [Lucifer is here for his darling cultists but this time he's walking into the room with a certain authority to him (with Clamor! and also with a whip). It's the sort of authority he exudes when something is Fucked Up that needs fixing and not the kind of controlling authority he usually weaponizes, because frankly these kids are His Babies and he doesn't want to be Like That, but dammit these imps have got to go.

The whip, of course, is just his weapon against imps that might attack. He's not going to hurt anyone else with it. ~~Yet.~~]

We, [a general "we", an "all y'all",] need to spend some time unsummoning these imps now. I don't know what's gotten them so riled up, but they've overstayed their welcome.

[He's wings-out and that's really all he has going for him right now, because his magic is still locked down. But he has one (1) Clamor with him! For magic! Because Demon King knows they'll need it.]

I'll walk you through what needs to be done, but we'll need a few things.

[He's not leaving much room for a no, like, feel free to say no, but Lucifer's doing that thing again where he's making it hard to say "no" by voluntelling them to do stuff. But feel free to say no, he's not your dad.]

[Clamor is also trying to carry himself with a certain air of authority for once—because he hasn't met these cultists yet (he thinks), but cults are bad news and that means he can't be showing any weakness. Just because Lucifer thinks they're good kids doesn't mean he can trust them. Besides, the last cult that tried to get on his good side got him murdered and skipped out on paying him, so he thinks the caution is pretty warranted.

Anyway, he's got his magic tome and he's got that resting bitch face out like he's actually going to be a Bitch today... although, there is one particular cultist that sticks out, and he's going to squint at Hikaru for a moment while he tries to remember where he's seen them before.]

Summoning isn't my department, but I can help with setting up wards and restraints. No one is dying until this gets fixed.

[not that he can... activate any of those wards himself, unfortunately, but since these people do seem to be capable of summoning, surely he can power them through the basics of protective spells? please learn a type of magic that won't get people murdered]

But, wait — since we're not from around here, there's like... no documentation of us, right? And the classes... seem super random. ( cause, yeah, it makes sense for her to be a first year, but for komaeda, who's in his twenties??? not so much. ) Who's to say the system can't be fooled?

( what if they just insisted they're second years, what then?? she's a little curious about possibly checking out what files they have on students, but... that's probably a mission to discuss separately from this. getting into details of them not belonging here around rokkun who believes he grew up with komaeda would probably be rough. )

Ah... ( she pauses for a moment, blinking. right, they can't go out, and if he graduates, well... she doubts he'll want to come back to this hellish place. ) Well... ( he asks, looking to him once rika finishes her questions and thoughts, wondering if that's enough to keep them connected. probably now, komaeda doesn't even remember much about him aside from what he's told, but he uses that as an excuse to see if their relationships stops or extends because of this school. for how far their memories apparently date back, is it truly fair to know that once rokkun graduates that that's it? what purpose does hanging onto the past do for him if he was never going to keep those bonds in the fire place. wouldn't it be easy to forget? he always seemed sad when komaeda didn't remember, and even about his favorite flavor of cake he was called out for it. )

( saying that must be unfair, but komaeda doesn't care considering he knows nothing, and it's easy for rokkun to bite back against him for it. it's genuine curiosity that makes him wonder what will happen to any of them once they graduated, will they never see one another again unless their fates are tied like he says? maybe he's thinking too deeply on the meaning, but it's then he leans back in his chair. )

Anyway, Kawaii-san makes a good point. ( about their documentation, what does this school really know about them? then again, he thinks about how the school rules here aren't even saved from way back, so maybe the same could be said for the rosters as well. there were those rules he found in the void world that... ) Even if they do... if it was all lost in a fire... they'll have to sort everyone again, right? ( he might be thinking about it. )

[ There's a little smile that he gives her at the question, his confirmation, even if it's a little hesitant and fleeting, like he daren't say it out loud and them knowing is good enough. It's a smile that becomes a little embarrassed when asked to explain watermelons. ]

It's... the colors. [ The pink-green that many find unimpressive in terms of shiny pallet always makes him think of watermelon. Watermelon makes him think of summer, of summer break, of splitting the melons and sharing the slices. Watermelon is a friendship color. ]

[ The cultists are in a corner of the classroom playing daihinmin, curtains drawn to darken the room from the afternoon sun and unlit candles scattered here and there amongst them— for the atmosphere, mostly, but unlit because it would be too hot to light them and it'd be a waste if the wax melted simply from the ambient heat of summer.

One or two make to stand up when Lucifer first enters the room as if to greet him and invite him to play, but the expression on his face and the fact that Clamor is also here gets them to slowly sit back down again on their knees, hands on their laps, staring down at the floor like a group of guilty children caught playing before they finished their chores. Hikaru is sitting behind one of the other cultists and tries very hard not to meet Clamor's eyes, aka they're doing that thing where they quickly glance over at Clamor and pray he's not looking back at them at the same time. ]

We- we tried... back when you first taught us. Fujioka-senpai brought us sage, bay leaves, and basil and everything! There was blood on some of the stuff, though... We washed it off and let it dry again, and didn't think it would be a problem...

[ He looks surprised for a moment when Komaeda brings up their fates being tied, but he quickly shakes his head and pushes past that. ]

Uh... No, there's documents. I'm sure there is— it's a school, and we were all tested to get in.

[ What, did they really think if they sat with him in class long enough, his homeroom teacher will go "okay, they're here now" and let them be third years? ...maybe the first part, but not the latter. ]

That said, the documents might not even be kept at school, and before you get any ideas about setting the principal's office on fire or whatever, know that the investigation and repair costs will take priority over extraneous projects like fixing up the dorms or school trips.

( Or more accurately, hopefully finding him... He heard from Rika that she and "Ran-tan" saw him and the latter talked to him close to midnight, and he's pretty sure she's ordinary as ordinary goes... well, nene looks normal too but she turns into a fish if she gets too wet but anyway

He's by the windows of the bottom floor half an hr or so before midnight, peering through them to see if he can find this elusive gardener. pspsps )
